| 1tuff40's 40 series 2.2 scaler
Thought i'd post up my first thread here of one of my rigs, my 2.2 40 cruiser. I built this replica of a good mates ultra cool 40, its one of, if not the most capable rigs here in Australia His 40 is running 406 mogs, rear steer, hydro racerunners, LS2, C4 + Atlas and 42" sticky Iroks. Anyway ill let the pics do the talking, and before i get flamed for having MOA in a scaler, i wanted this to perform as well as look as good as possible. And its far from a shelf queen, it gets its fair share of use The build-up is here http://thecrawlpit.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=110&t=5067 List of main parts are Berg diffs Custom 40 chassis Alloy links with Traxxas and Revo ends Alloy Savage shocks Axial chrome rims with Roklox (since changed and will post pics up) JR 8711 servos Dual FXR's with CC bec Integy V11 50t motors Cheers Pricey. |

Absolutely killer work on the chassis. The MOA kinda kills it for me though. But damn fine tube work.

Fawkin awesome!.....Love it!...I've been working on a similar idea, this definitely gives me a ton of inspiration. Thank you! This rig is a glimpse into the future of RC Crawling! Last edited by travis c.; 09-27-2011 at 10:23 AM. |

Great work. That is some nice tube work. With those axles and that tube work, it looks like a solid rig. Frak all the j-birds that will whine about the moa axles! |

That is one badass rig right there. How many hours do you have into building that>?

Thanks for the nice comments At a guess for hours put in, easily over 100 hours. Like everyone knows with building custom rigs, everything has to be made to suit. Clocking both diffs, the steer setups, making the suspension arms fit 100% all takes time. The alloy roof panels too a fair bit of time to make, and the front headlight panel, but its these things that kinda finish off the rig. I'm pretty happy with the end result. I did try to fit Axial diffs under it, but trying to get the servo and shocks to fit in the front and back with keeping a good wheelbase (at 12.5" now) was real hard, plus i wanted it to drive similar to my comp Berg which it does, so i'm happy. For a scaler it really does drive extremely well and very capable. I love having the dual FXR's in it, i think i would have regretted going back to Axial diffs as it wouldn't have been as capable. Next on the list is doing work on the diffs like machine the tubes, do an 86jeep steer to fit the servo inbetween the motor and tube, and paint the diffs black to look (as much as theses diffs can) more scale. Its running the JR servo's now, they're 7955's in the pics and also now have RC4WD alloys with TSL's but haven't driven it yet with them so hopefully get some wheeling pics over the weekend and post up Cheers Steve. |

Its not built for comps, i did run it in a few but i just prefer social crawling with mates. Its real fun to drive, although when i take it out, others use it more than me, i only lend it to certain mates to use but. Still yet to break anything on it, the Bergs are standard clocked diffs, so they have held up very well. Cheers Steve. | |
