bingo, if you don't add material then take your time and very slowly grind your flats making sure they just BARELY fit in a stock locker and i mean nearly press fit, youll be goo to go

Just the standard AX hardware? (or high-steers, whatever) So if I decide to go with those CVD's, I best not try and use the XR steering components?
Correct...on my Class 2 I went with the RC4WD CVD's and SCX knuckles and C's. I'm not positive, but I don't think you could use the CVD's with XR knuckles and C's anyway. I think the dimensions are different.

the xr10 bearings on the knuckles are the same as on the ax/scx knuckles. where you run into the problem is where the pivot point is on the two setups, mixing axles and knuckles without the correct C's would screw up that geometry and cause bind.

Just what I was looking for!

Considering all of this, it might be worthwhile to give the RC4WD XVDs a try. I have to be honest, though... With my experiences with RC4WD's drivetrain components, I'm quite skeptical. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong!

But if this fails, I'll certainly be considering modding some XR10 axles to be used with XR10 knuckles.

Any update on the xvd's Tommy? How are the RC4WD holding up?

No updates from me yet. I may give some a try, but I haven't started either of my next builds yet. Too many other non-RC things going on that are sapping up all my time!
