Check it out! Just released! Doesn't look like it has dual ESC mixing.... Spektrum DX4S 4-Channel DSMR Radio System (SPM4000) |

I believe it has dual esc mixing, in the spec there's pre-set mixing and 4 wheel steer, that would be stupid from spektrum to not include the dual esc mixing.

What is this? 2 User-defined, programmable mixes - I'm know little about advanced settings on radios, wouldn't that be what you'd use for dual ESC?

A Futaba 4PL is still cheaper at $250 and you can get good futaba RX's for $30. Another thing to consider is futaba actually has team drivers on this forum (Harley) and any and all questions can be asked and answered via the radios sub forum. Spektrum doesn't have that, nor do they support the crawling side and sponsor events like futaba does. I use to be a fan of spectrum but its simply gone down hill. The fact they still use that cheesy selector wheel in the back is surprising after so many people have broken there. Last edited by RcBro; 11-22-2012 at 10:11 AM. |

Ya well this is the S series... So maybe they'll make a good DX4R Pro with Drop down wheel... I'd still go with a 4PKS-R over whatever they come out with....

Haters! The 4PL is one of the most uncomfortable radios. The only other option is the way over priced 4PK's. The DX3R's are a great radio and comfortable too. I cant wait for this one to come out. DX4R with a drop down wheel would be better though. |

i have both futaba 4pl and the spektrum dx3r... i love the dx3r.. the interface is so easy to yuse.. im not a tech savy guy and just messing around with the radio was easy to figure out.. i bought the 4pl just to have 4 ch. on my scalers.. its a good radio but i dont like the feel in my hand.. and when your switching radio for each class is annoying... i will be getting the spektrum gear for sure!! anybody want to buy a 4pl?? |

I was a Spektrum guy for years. I now use an Airtronics MT-4. Fit, feel, weight and options are awesome. I don't see myself going back to Spektrum. IMO they came in too late. I had one if the first DX3S models and it held up, but their new radios just seem cheap in quality.

No dual esc mixing again! Also more updateable sd card crap without any up dated that are actually made. Love the comfort of their product but the development and empty promises are a bummer.

If spektrum was smart they would have came out with a 6ch and then would have been safe..... It would have made the other companies go hmmmmm. | |
