Default 4 Link plate installation

What is the best hardware to use to attach the 4 link plate to each axle. A 2.5mm screw or a 3mm screw? Self tapping?
Any help is always appreciated.

Sorry, I have the stock scx10 axles. The front plate is the gear head 4 link plate and the rear is the strc plate.

If you are not using nylock nuts, make sure you use threadlock (only need a drop).
