Question Do you protect your axle housings?

I *think* I've just got my TLT-1 to the point where I'm happy to take it out for a bit of action. Mounted the shocks to the top of the chassis to bring up the ride height and improve scale look a bit.

I'm a bit concerned that the axle housings on the TLT may be a little weak, and also there's some exposed hardware. It's not quite as bad as my old clod-based crawler used to be, but I still remember from that the rounded exposed screws and worn plastic screw housings with some pain when diff rebuild time came around...

I know mainstream crawlers have better designs, but wondered if anyone can recommend a material or method to protect? I've fashioned a centre skid from carbon fibre mounted with double-sided but as the axles have lots of shapes need something flexible, or coating etc.

Thanks

When everyone ran TLTs back in the day we did just the opposite. We shaved the cases for more clearance.

I can understand that, but this one is a basher/crawler cross-over and I'd like it durable. Any ideas? I'm thinking maybe get a glue gun and just put a bit of hot glue in places, that can always be pulled off.

Sun was shining today so I took it with us for a walk up a steepish hill to a monument with great views out across the countryside, great run for smaller scalers actually, took it out the trunk of the car....

.... of course I did remember to bring the Tx??? D'OH!!!
