Could I run a 8.4v or 9.6v 5000nimh battery in a rs10 didn't know if higher volts would burn up servos or speed control esc

So I could run them I was wondering because when I upgraded my servos my rig didn't drive as fast and didn't have as much power as it did with old servo do you think higher capacity mah would give the power back or do I need more voltage

You might want to look into a BEC

I ran mine on a 3S lipo 11v! Worked fine until i dunked it in a creek(about 5 months)! You should be fine on the bigger NiMh. The BEC helps a lot though.

It'll run for awhile, but it won't last...you'll be having fun one day and poof, up in smoke. The stock esc is weak to say the least. You MUST MUST MUST add an external bec if you want any kind of ride out of the truck.

(and before you ask, YES, I had, and still have, an RS10...fun truck for the money)

A BEC....

Your new servos are drawing current through your esc and it may be causing a "brown out", a BEC lets them draw current seperate from the ESC. So, you need a BEC

I ran mine on 4s a couple times. Burnt brushes on first outting and smoked the esc on the second outing. I'd say I ran it for a total of 6 hours on the 4s. Regardless of what battery you use you need a bec. A larger mah battery will not add power only voltage will. Mah stands for milliamp hours in case you were wondering, so larger mah rating provides longer run time. Spend the beer money for the weekend and get you a bec. Happy trailing
