| Pneumatic Suspension Build
Hey guys, I thought you all might be interested in seeing my senior project. It's a 1:10 with an autonomously controlled air suspension for improved traction. It has a pretty nice RTI performance on a slick surface with open differentials, and can prevent itself from rolling over on steep side-hills. The build is still in progress. If there's any interest I may check back with some updates. Enjoy! https://sites.google.com/site/pvfjr1/aleas |

pretty cool. A 1/10 hummer hard body would cover all the electronics too. You gonna make a video of it working?

Yep, I'll post some vids later on, I'm still getting the bugs out of the control system. So you think that the hummer body will fit over the linear potentiometers? That would definitely clean up the look a little. Is it for the same wheel base as the Honcho? |

H2 body from radio shack is dingo wheelbase. A minor change to your links and it will drop right on.

Good to know, unfortunately I can't change my wheelbase for scientific purposes... I have two of these Honchos, one unmodified control vehicle, and the experimental vehicle. I have to keep all geometries the same to prove that it's just the active nature of the suspension that improves the traction. On another note, it's getting a lot closer to being fully operational. I've worked out quite a few software bugs, and it's almost doing what I want it to on the RTI ramp. It definitely out performs the stock vehicle by far on the ramp--but not until the pneumatics kick in. |
