So this is gonzo. It started as a roll cage for some traxxas nitro and it was just sitting on the shelf at my lhs covered in dust. So i got it for 23$ and ideas came rolling in as i drove home. I cant take any credit for the current work on it as i cant weld. So projunk is doing it for me. It will have a planetary 4:1 trans and a 1:1 transfer case. Im also going to use the t-rex axles from rc4wd. Not sure what system im going to use as far as electronics because it will be heavy lol

A 4:1 reduction into a transfer case isn't going to be nearly enough reduction. You should really be in the 15-20:1 range before the axles.

I don't understand all the gearing. Why is it no good? What is the reduction really used for?

Meaning you don't understand the fundamentals of gearing?

If you don't fix your gearing your truck is going to try and do 50mph but won't have enough torque to crawl up a curb and will overheat that motor in seconds.

Even with a 85 turn motor? Im just curious. What would you suggest? I have seen a similar set up in the rc4wd rtr trucks.
