Default building my wraith

ive lowered my wraith as much as I could with the free mods flipped the lower links, the rear shock mounts, moved the battery up front and the esc and receiver to the back. im running a vemon 5000 mah nmhi battery but the steering is getting lazy now since the battery forward mod. what would be the best servo to install and would a panhard cms work better than the factory setup?

The cms with a panhard has absolutely no increase in performance or steering response, it's only real benefit is that it looks more scale.

The Wraith platform, with it's large tires, wide stance, sharp steering angles, and locked diffs, is very hard on servos. I destroyed several moderately expensive ($80-100)servos before saving up for a Hitec 7980. It is slightly oversized, so I had to make a custom mount for it, but it works flawlessly. Best durabilty mod done to the truck in over two years of abusive ownership.

If you want the best direct fit, then pick up a Hitec 7950.

The cheapest servo I can reccomend is a Savox 1230.

Regardless of what you get for a servo, you will either need an external BEC, or you can power it straight from the battery leads if it is rated for straight 2s power. Otherwise your not going to get the rated specs of the servo.

Heres where others chime in suggesting that $20 chinese specials are plenty strong enough for their wraith...

I run a $80 Hitec 7954 in one Wraith, and a $20 Solar 772 in the other. Both have been plugging along just fine.

A bec is a must!

Ditching the nimh for a lipo will help things as well.
