those terms came from various O-ring/X-ring vendors in various industries, they can't seem to decide on just one. x-ring and quad-ring appear to be the most common and some may be brand specific like "Teflon" (PTFE) or "Delrin" (acetal) from DuPont.

Drzoo, I must have been misunderstanding how to measure the o-rings.

I appreciate the help!

I ordered a set so I'll take the chance. Post my findings after they come.

Yeah. Even my company does that. We sell a gasket material we market as "Seal-Tite", but it is just EPDM rubber.

The OD is a function of the ID plus the material thickness.

I've had those o-rings in my scalers for probably a month or so. I have had zero leakage so far. I built them using a LOT of green slime as well.

Great to here because mine have leaked since day 1 and after a rebuild courtesy of Proline.

I don't sell a ton of metric o-rings, but I believe the sizing runs similar to standard.

Standard o-rings will move up proportionately (in a loose sense) in size within a cross section. This applies to standard quad rings as well. The standard CS's are 1/16", 3/32", 1/8", 3/16" and 1/4".

In both standard & metric, the two most important sizes are the CS and ID. the OD is an end product of those. The exception being if it is something custom.

My O-rings I ordered from McMaster-Carr came in today. Price with shipping was around $12. I'm not sure they save any money but if they stop them from leaking they are worth every penny.

Here's a quick pic of the Proline O-ring and the "Quad" ring.

Now to rebuild these for the third time.

Thanks for the pics! I ordered 40 of them.

Mine should be here by Wednesday.

Let us know how they work out!

I found AE part number 91055 on e-Bay Wednesday (23rd), so I ended up buying 3 sets (24 x-rings) for $10.77 shipped. They shipped the next morning and arrived today. These are direct replacements for my SC10 4x4 but will also fit the G-Made shocks on my Wraith. At $2 a pack and $4.77 to ship I just couldn't pass on the price.

I got a chance to get one shock build. These were freshly rebuilt about a month ago. Been sitting on my shelf waiting for the weather to turn. They didn't seep as bad as when I got them new but still more than I would like to see.

The new rings fit nice. Maybe a touch more stiction than stock rings. Plenty of slime, but I did on the other rebuild(s) also.

I guess now I wait....

Got mine today (all 40 of them) the inner hole is larger than the diameter of the shaft. I don't know if they are going to seal up or not. With that said when assembled, they seem* to seal.

What about you Drzoo2?

So far so good. If anything, I thought they felt a touch tighter than the stock rings. I just looked at the cups and after 4 days, no seep.

Thanks, ordered some for my Scaler shocks! If they work well, I'll be using them in all my shocks.

I bought the o-rings, but got the wrong size, sold my SCX10, but kept these Proline scaler shocks. Haven't had a need for them, so haven't re-ordered correct size or used the shocks in awhile.

Anybody know whether or not the Powerstrokes use the same size?
