| Any one still running an original scx10?
As the title says are they an old tossed in the corner heap of junk nobody uses or are they still being hammered around? Got back into it again after 2 years sitting on the shelf. Still mostly stock except a nice panhard cms set up I made sorta like the scx10.2 other wise Battery up front axles have lead inside and wheels. All the other usual little things we all did to them except I still run the original chubs and knuckles have clearanced the dog bones and cut a little notch in the arms for the screw on the chub. Running a Mojave body as was norm back then (2014). The rear drop bed shock tower issue was solved by triming the mounts down to the shock end and screwing some m3 screws upwards and putting them though the deck of the body and added a bit of fuel line to the shock internally to get a nice ride hight. Ummm added lead under receiver box a plastic marlin rear bumper... Anyway what I'm on about here is am I missing out ? It still crawls over amazing stuff has been rolled down hills gazillions of times I've never even replaced the plastic gears just pack it with grease its on the 3rd motor and a couple of bearing sets lol the shocks are still stock and are nicely damped with air. The 1 thing and only this 1 thing that is eating at me for a new rig is that dam front axle. Yes it looks way better with 4mm stainless welding rod tie rod panhard and drag links but dam it's an ugly axle and wish it was offset. Sorry for the long post. Things have moved on a bit since last go at the scale 4x4 world |

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Why spend money if you don't have to. Sent from my LM-G710VM using Tapatalk |

Yes Does really well compared to the 10II.... Edit: SSD sells housings that look like Dana 60'..... look fantastic and go together better than any scx10 axle. Last edited by lonleycreeper; 09-01-2019 at 11:02 AM. |

Yeah I like the if it ain't broke way of thinking. Have a 3 year old son now and the tf2 dream is now just that a dream lol. It's amazing how well the 3 year old drives it I did like those ssd axles when they came out but I remember a lot of bearing housing issues have they been sorted? There not offset front pumpkin but beggars can't be choosers lol Mike I like that shock set up |

Sort of... This guy was built about a year before the official SCX10 came out. I have updated the drive shafts and electronics, but it is still pretty much the same truck. This thing is a beast and is what I give family and friends to drive. It was originally built with an E-Maxx transmission, the two-speed was very cool, but the transmission got hung up a lot. It was cool though, this was a time when there were not many scale rigs around, and fewer with two-speed transmissions. It now has a standard AX10 transmission. The wiring has been clean up a lot. I am running a 1/18 scale transmission for a winch, it will do 25+ lbs without breaking a sweat. |

Yep. Think i got it around Feb, 2012 brand new RTR Lots of changes since then and just done a 5 hour trail in the mud and rain with it yesterday. Not so much of the original truck now though but still the original lockers, front drive cups, 1 of the dog bones and the front ring gear Body is the original still Maybe 300,000 scale miles on it |

Wow guys nice rigs I feel quite happy now. Will definitely pick up some of those axles at some stage. Yesterday pulled off a sneaky trick to lift the bumper up a bit. Cut the chassis rails off around 10mm in front of the shock hoops then switch them over to the opposite side so the curve goes upwards a quick zap with the tig welder and lifts the bumper real nice and avoids the chassis rails hanging out the bottom. Glad these trucks are still being abused nicely even a decade later |

Me, almost 10 years of pure pleasure... Still running all original factory parts on axles, gearbox, Axial replacement metal links, teking motor and esc. Being running on 2.2s since new. The SCX 10 makes lots of newer trucks owners mad.... This is a regullar 3 mile trail we do every 15 days here in Brazil. TRX-4 sport on the left is my wifes truck and SCX10.2 red Jeep Wrangler is my daughters truck. My truck has very high mileage on it...... This was a 6 mile trail with around 30 other cars, but I'am not a picture guy, so I don't have many to share. Brgds from Brazil Marcelo |

Me too! Still run it (Rubicon) and it's my Go To for every day driving. Everything stock expect the 4 lower, 2 upper linkages that I did a DIY SS sleeve over 8-32 rods, purchased aluminum "Y" upper linkage and steering linkage. Still original wheels and tires! Currently building a Capra which is taking f-o-r-e-v-e-r! I do mostly trailing and some rock climbing. Just purchased some Duratrax Showdown 1.9's and mounted them on the Capra's kit beadlocks. Love the truck! Last edited by Kingmeow; 09-14-2020 at 07:44 PM. Reason: model clarification |

Yep I have an OG 2012 Rubicon, well kind of lol, but the chassis and axles are still there from it. Takes a bit more finesse in picking your lines than the newer trucks need

My 1st crawler was a SCX10 Deadbolt, which I still have and wheel. Just last week I replaced the original tires and wheels on it. |

I still have my first SCX10 I bought back in 2016 when I got back into the hobby after taking a 25 year break. It started out as a Deadbolt, but has been heavily upgraded over the last few years. I think the only stock parts left on it is the body and chassis rails. It now sees more shelf time then driving time! |

Yup Have a couple of them....still running... I’m re-building my truggy....putting SSD AR44s portals on and a HandBros CMS setup. Of course this makes it not the same as an OG chassis...but that’s why we “build”...right? Everything is modified....pieced together use this with that, move the motor forward, transfer cases, short wheelbase chassis’s....the list goes on. I’m of course HOOKED :shock. Hook, line and sinker Anybody want to buy one? LOL |
