| 12" body suggestions.
Buying my Dad a new body for his birthday, don't want to be changing wheelbase on his SCX10ii Deadbolt, so looking for suggestions on 12" bodies. I know of a couple, but not very many, most what I am finding is 12.3" or 12.8"... Thanks |

These are listed for 12"...there may be others, but these what I found at RPP. Axial 69 Blazer Axial Nukizer 715 Proline 73 Bronco If you decided to go with a truggy look, I think any of the single "cab only" bodies would work. That being said, .3" is only about a 5/16" difference, so in a truggy type configuration, it might not look too bad. |

If I recall correctly, the Dingo is 11.4". The shortest of the three wb options... The 12.3" option is popular due to the more stable nature of the rig... |

Though I've never seen one in person, the Cross RC Kr4C Demon is supposedly 305mm/12" and the body is about the same price as other Lexan bodies on the market. I'm considering one for my 305mm SCX10. |

I don't think he'd want a truggy look to be honest, I think he would prefer something semi realistic looking but still an overall capable truck. It surprises me that Axial don't make more 12" bodies, based on how many Deadbolts have sold. Thanks for the suggestions so far, I think the front runner is the Pro-line '73 Bronco. |

I'm not a fan of truggy's either, but I was just putting it out there. The Bronco is good size, I just never liked how it's proportions were off. The Blazer, on the other hand, is quite good looking, IMO.

I know that you don't want to change the wheelbase, but replacing those noodly plastic links is a good idea anyway, so you can just buy some that are already the right length to accommodate a 12.3" body. If you've already got metal links, spinning some Traxxas Jato rod ends onto one end of the rear links should get you the extra length that you need for 10 minutes worth of work.

DOH. I misread the original post. OHO proline has the Jeep Jk 2dr in "11.8" wheelbase... It's big and pushing the front axle out .2" looks good esp if you don't use the included plastic bumpers. https://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/pro332200.htm Last edited by lonleycreeper; 01-21-2020 at 01:59 PM. |
