| The nylint bus!
Team Nylint, is going to our first 2.2 comp tomorrow. 20 in our class, so it should be interesting. We have three rigs, and four drivers. Here are a few pics of our rigs. Check the bus out, I think its pretty cool, head lights and tail lights work!. Crawls pretty good also. Its not mine, mine is the worn out jeep Of course all of us are very new to crawling. I have ran about 30 batteries through mine, but the two other drivers (bus and vette) have only ran two batteries period! But its all in fun anyways. Now personally I don't like the vette body, sits too high, but the owner likes it, and thats what counts I guess? The only one I am missing is my brothers. Its almost ALL stock, except for tires and electrics, but it crawls as good as any of them! Last edited by holycaveman; 03-03-2007 at 11:58 PM. |

Thanks for the replies! We just got back from the 2.2 competition. It was our first, and it was pretty cool. All of the guys were very helpful to us newbies. The nylint bus was a little top heavy, along with the vette. As you wouldn't have guessed . But they made a good showing, for their first time out, not to mention their third battery charge ever in them!. And at least they did not get last. My brother and I had a pretty good day! Our first comp and we were both in the top 10. The only problem is we were disqualified for having 1/18 scale bodies. But we are cool with that, rules are rules. The results are below. My brothers nylint(blue one) would have placed 7th over all, and his is totally stock except for tires and electrics! I was lucky enough to get 4th(had I not been disqualified) (lowest score wins) This one hill kicked my butt though I thought that we really showed that nylints are right in their with the rest of them? Of course thanks to "TRI-STATE CRAWLERS" for putting on this event, very well done!!. And to all of you whom I read your buildups for ideas for ours! Oh yea, their was one other nylint based crawler who I believe was in the top ten also? So that's 3 nylints in the top 10!!! Not too bad? We are the ones at the bottom of the list that are disqualified. 1. Doug J...................-11 2. BigJ.......................-7 3. Jeremy...................-5 4. Cory......................-2 5. Kevin.....................-1 6. Mike H....................9 7. Tim........................11 8. Kris........................16 9. Colton....................18 10. Josh.....................19 11. Derek....................20 12. Jim.......................31 13. Joe.......................34 14. Kyle......................53 15. Phil.......................65 16. Brannon.................66 17. Glenn....................67 18. Calib.....................68 DQ'd due to body rule........................... Joel...........................10 Tom...........................-2 And of course our nylints Last edited by holycaveman; 03-04-2007 at 07:18 PM. |

I posted this for those that might have doubts about their nylint, and thinking of "upgrading". Upgrading is fine, but it will not make you crawl better? Saw a lot of nice crawlers there, the txt's, clods, tlt's are nice, and more sturdy than my current nylint, but do not crawl any better. The other nylint that was not with our group managed 2ond place! A very nice rig. He had fixed all the gear problems, was running stock losi motors, and had ball bearings on his front axles, with steel knuckles. Really strong set up, I plan on doing the ball bearing mod next. Makes everything tight and sturdy like the other crawlers. Infact after the comp, I am convinced to just keep my nylint for now? Realy no reason to upgrade, unless I was just wanting another project? | |
