Im thinking of attempting to build a 1940's deuce military truck. I have an idea for the frame and i think i can use axial axels. Has anyone seen a deuce cab anywhere? I thought maybe a tamiya bullhead body might work? I was thinking i could take to of the same 1/2 of axial axel housing for the second axel and reglar for the front and back. thanks |

I think the bullhead cut up would work the bed would be easy to make. as far as axles I would look into the semi axles for the rear and the tlt for the front

What about a Tamiya King Hauler body? Cut the sleeper off. Change up the windows and fenders. Might give you a rigid start to add styrend and filler to. |

I like the idea of cutting the king hauler and making the fenders and stuff, I think it would turn out good.

not to be hating, but the OP said he wanted a wwII deuce, not the newer '60s and up deuces that you all have posted. he's looking for a GMC cckw, not an M35. i have a lot of expierence with the real world deuces and there is nothing similar between the 2 other than the ton rating and the fact that they have 6 wheels. never had a cckw but i've had 7 m35's and 4 m109's |

well the only ones i have really seen are from wwii. but really id like the 6x6 with the canvas back on it. I looked at the king hauler and someone also said the bullhead might work too. Im not looking for extreme realism, but it should look something like the truck.

I used a Bullhead cab when I had a running 6x6, it looked the part w/ very narrow 2.2 tires.

I was thinking of using 1.9's and doubling the rears on each side. Integy makes some rims that have bolts holding them togther, just us a longer bolt in a couple holes for 2 rims together.
