Talking write up,for mod for putting ring and pion from a e savage in wheely king

Well I’m starting a new right up on how to mod the ring and pion gears for an e savage to put in a wheely king. Go sick of stripping the old stock one. So will have it up in a few days. If you have any question in the mean time hit me up.

Thanks’ thevulgarcowboy

I'd like to see how they fit as well.

They do look like they are drop in dont they, I had to go look at them again. Hpi has the Hardend ones for the Nitro RS4 mt listed as option parts. I wonder how many different sets are drop in.

The ring gear bolts right in. but the pion gear you need to shave a little of where the e clip goes in the top. Or do what I’m doing, I’m beveling the inner face if the gear. 1st less material removed and not a lot of heat buildup in the part to change the temper of the steal

ps will have pics up in a few days

So.......drop in ring gear, clamp pinion in drill press, drill down a little with a large drill bit to bevel, install pinion, the end?

I should do a writeup of how I installed Pede shafts and yokes using stock parts without compromising strength.....

I have had these nitro rs4 diff´s for little over a week now and I havent had time to bolt them in yet
they are the 36T/14T gears so they will lower the gear ratio = more speed

Are you guys still using those stock axle screws? That might be why your stripping diffs. Get rid of the four screws around the pumpkin and replace them with four 3mmx35 SHCS and four nylocks.

I did replace mine with threaded rod. I don't know if its a bad driver, or the fact that I am still using the big ole mud thrashers, but I still get an occassional diff click. I shimmed them pretty tight, but it still clicks once in a while.

Shim, shim ,shim them and they wont click. i have aluminum tranny gears, strc rear lock outs ,aluminum hexs, and with the pinions shimmed the only thing i have problems with is breaking front axles.

after grind(1 on the left/ a nice dish shape)

a quick tip using the drive shaft as a handle makes putting the E clp in ezer

sorry for the bad pic. thare on my cell phone. my lil 1 thought my camera needed a bath. so did this mod on my brothers. the ring gear bolts in the stock place with no mods and rest of the axle goes back together jest like stock.
