Default WK Axles on K2 Chassis

Has anyone ever made a scaler using a K2 chassis and WK Axles? I have some axles laying around and a K2 chassis but I just can't wrap my head around how to mount the WK trans since it has to be upright.

I can figure out the links and the servo mounts...

If anyone has done this sort of build before please put up some pics...I need jumpstart for ideas

Are you using the same motor mount plate from HPI? Would it be possible to get details on how you mounted the trans?

Thanks again

There are some better pictures in my comp crawler thread here.
1st Attempt at a scratch built rig!

I just cut a skid out of delrin, but you could use some cutting board material from wal mart also.

The motor plate is a clocked motor plate that i got from here.

You do have to trim the post off of one side of the tranny and do a little dremal work to run a small pinion. I was able to run a 16 t without to much dremal work but i wanted to run a 14 so i took alittle off the case.

Hope that helps, If not i will try to answer any other questions.

If you don't have to use a wm tranny get a stampede tranny. They fit well and are very cheap now 15-25$ and you. Can use maxx shafts too

I have some max shafts and some brake line for my links. Pretty much have everything except for the body.

I still have to figure out what I'm going to base this build on. Definitely something with a SWB...sami perhaps.

Thanks for the info BTW rottenbelly!
