Hi,
I'm new to RC and only own a Wheely King, I'm not sure about some things with it.

The battery can only be charged for 6 hours, are there any chargers that let you charge a battery for a whole night without damaging it?

What battery do you recommend running with the stock motor for better performance?

This question would be better asked in the "Electronics" section of RCC

But here's a brief explanation

I'll assume your using NiCad's or NiMh batteries

NiCad's suffer from a voltage depletion or voltage depression phenomenon
that most people call the memory effect.
A problem experienced by NiCd battery users are not due to a "memory effect" but are due to overcharging or improper storage. Overcharging is usually caused by poorly designed battery chargers. These chargers continue to deliver current to the batteries even after the batteries are full charged.....Not Good
A discharged NiCad battery will cause the polarity of the battery to reverse (the plus end actually becomes minus and vice versa). Once this happens the battery will not take a charge again.

NiMh batteries can also be damaged by overcharge and improper storage
Most users of NiMH batteries don't have to be concerned with voltage depletion effect. But if you use your NiMh's for only a short time every day and then charge the batteries every night, you will need to let the NiMH batteries run down occasionally.

A Trickle Charger will keep your battery peeked and ready for use
but I wouldn't keep it plugged in over night
A quick charger will charge your batteries in about 20 to 30 min.
but you will want to store them charged
Stored at 70 degrees F (20 C) NiMH batteries will lose up to 40% of their charge within a month or so......

Manufacturers recommend an occasional, complete discharge of NiMH batteries followed by a full recharge.


Now to the point:

LiPo's

If you want to see a significant increase in power and run time
then you will want to look into a LiPo battery,
LiPo batteries dont have the problems that NiCad & NiMh have & are usually
smaller in size for the same or more voltage & mAh's.

So I would look into buying Lipo batteries but keep in mind that
you will also need to purchase a LiPo charger........


Many ppl are switching to a complete "Brushless" system with LiPo
