I put the 450 park brushless and the Mamba Maxx to work tonight. Rig runs great!!! Now to replace the heart in the Scorpion King an up grade, Z3013 going in next week with a Maxx

Yep, Another basher. Weighs in at 10 lbs. and is not as top heavy as I thought it would be. But your right. It's not low profile, narrow nor light. But it's now running. So I may go to Alabama tomorrow. To try it out!!! |

The rig is looking good. I dont really like the shape of the plates you put on the sides of the frame. I dont really know what it is, but something doesnt look right. Nice rig |

Thanks guys, The rig looks better than it performed. I went to an SERCRC event Saturday at Cherokee Rock Village in Alabama. Wow what a nice place on top of Lookout Mountain. Which I found out is really long (starts at Chattanooga). We were on top of the part that overlooks Weiss Lake. Great views, scenery, and rocks. The rig as I was told by JIA is really not suited to compete as a 2.2 and he was right. I still like the way the rig turned out. It looks scale, which is what I was going for. But as it turned out, without dig, with a high COG, and with courses where dig was a must. THe Boyer WK Tuber did not perform well, pointed out on both courses. No problems on power and no breakages. WK parts held up. I am again back to the drawing board. But I had a great time and did some site seeing. Also meet several nice people and made new friends.

| 4life, Probably that big black empty space I had planned to put the picture of a Rock Goblin. Which was going to be the name of the rig. Something like a ghost eating an erratic line of rocks, similar to pac-man. That part did not get finished.

XTANT, Probably not going to happen this time around (pics on side panels). Think the WK parts will end up on another chassis, possibly another sleeker tube frame. Still 2.2 but a little more along the lines of low COG type rigs. Look for it in the future!!!!

Well as I've said before the Boyer Tuber did not perform as well as I had hoped. So I decided to tear it down and rebuild. I used the same axles, mounts, lower links, tranny, motor and shocks. I made a one piece hard plastic uni-frame (one piece).By using a hair dryer to heat the plastic I was able to bend is into the arch I wanted to use. Using my drimel I cut angles on each end to resemble A-links like JIA used on Ralph. I drilled a small hole in the end of each one and atached them to the mounting hole at the top of the pumpkins. I also cut out holes for the drive shafts to run thru. Then I drilled holes in the sides of the plastic for the lower mounts to fasten too. I also drilled 3 holes for the tranny to mount too. Then I made two shock mounts (one for each end of the frame) for the shocks to mount too. On the tops of these mounts I mounted a flat piece of aluminum to use as a body mount using velcro to attach the body. That was about all it took other than transferring the electronics. Anyway here is the finished product. It weights about 5 1/2 lbs., has 4 ozs. 6x9 plastic beads in each tire. Does not have dig (yet). And just for UNIMOGER I named this one THE WHEELY KING so here are a few pics. Below!!! Last edited by JIA's Dad; 04-01-2007 at 01:00 AM. |

Thanks guys, The frame is 3 7/8" wide the motor extends over the passengers side 1 1/2" to the end of motor mount. The battery location off sets this. The wheel base is 12" long by 11 1/8 wide. Keep the wheel base short in case the arch flattened out (has not). Here are the pics body off |
