Default WK drooper chassis: suggestions?

I've searched but have very little experience to go off of. Anyone run a droop minded chassis they are really happy with? I wanna build a tuber but don't have the equipment nor the space to do it in (1 bdrm apt). Maybe I could just buy a tube frame but I'd relly rather make it. So here I am... any suggestuins?
I'd like to use the existing tranny but I could get a pede or R2D2 if I have to

Let me restate that... 1Bdrm,wife 3 cats, kayaks, lsnowboards, sets Xcountry and tele skis, a jillion feet of all kinds of climbing rope and hardware, camping equipment, car ramps mechanic stuff for the Jeep(bigger stack than the fridge) bikes, RC stuff on table. Then there's the wifes stuff for her daycare ( you don't even wanna know!!). Oh yeah and tons of bootlegs and CD's and such. Friggin hobbit hole
Yeah I know, I need to move but we're rooted for now. Besides that my hands suck from blowing glass a few years back (nerves burned) so it's real hard to keep a steady hand.
That is a real nice tuber though! One of my friends just moved back in town and he has a unused garage, so maybe there's some potential there, but equipment is still an issue and the winter is major downtime for the bees so not much$ to be made in the winter. Figured I might just fish around for other people's experiences with the various designs out there

Hey man, I really like my Gopher tuber. It seems to meet your criteria, and you could use about any trans. I have the R2D in mine. I have about a 13 page thread going in this section, check it out.

BTW you can get the gophers at www.tcscrawlers.com

$80, pretty hard to beat for the money IMO.

That's niiice! I'm trying to talk my wife into getting me one for my Bday on the 23rd. We'll see how it goes.
I'm in touch with someone who will custom me one for another project, but still haven't come up with a design of my own. I want a Fat dog or cobra also but I'm on a budget so my plans are kinda blowing where the wind takes them!

hi harley,
you say you have the r2d trans in your gopher, what about putting the wheely king trans in, would that bolt straight in with out mods, why i say that i would like to get a drooper chassis but dont want to spend other money in another trans when i have the complete wheely king.

if the gopher wont take the standard wheely king trans what other choices do i have ....

thanks in advance...

cheers tony.....

Got a question or two for you droop chassis experts (I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I think it's relevant to the discussion).

I set up a droop wheely king and when testing it in the shop, just going vertical up a wall until it flips over, I notice that as soon as it starts to climb it extended the front suspension all the way. Meaning, the front shocks fully extend.

So, I tried putting internal springs in the shocks and now it flops the chassis to the left, fully extending both right side shocks?

1st, is the extending shock deal just part of the droop setup?
2nd, what's the best way to counter the chassis torquing to one side?
3rd, any suggestions or insight you guys have would be great!

Thanks,
Jake

Zorloc: I was hoping to get an up-to-date discussion going on the subject ... Or, at the very least get a quicky course in what's what for the droop questions! I'll go back and do some searching and reading!

Easiest and most direct way to counteract the front shocks unloading on a steep climb is to use some kind of limit strap. Something that will only let the axle drop so far then stop. You could use a set length wire or twine or something...or you could go a bit more adjustable by using a micro servo to winch the axle up or down like the 1:1 rigs do with small winches.
