I just ordered a new rx for my clod buster. It's one of those flysky ones. It was on sale at Hobby Partz for $7.40. Ha!

Are referring to your cloister bodied C1?

And I have to recommend this, unless you are running on a budget, the BEST buy you can make IMHO, is a Futaba 4PL You really do want 4 channels with programable mixing. Like a TTC rig with Rear Steer or Dig and a winch. Even my TF2 is using 4 channels, Steering, Throttle, Shifting and Winch.

Yes, not a real clodbuster...just using the body. It's going to be AWESOME! Can you imagine me driving an original clodbuster around out with you guys, ha. I need to think of a name for this thing so I don't confuse people.

I know, I probably need to upgrade my radio but so far I haven't had a real need for that 4th channel. The flysky I have was $35 and the spare rx's are $10 or less. I haven't had a single issue with it yet. One of these days I'll upgrade but at $7.40 per rx I'm fine with this one for now.

AND there's the 8 ch hack for this one...

BRXL's are all I run. Sadly only one of them is WP (hindsight). I have never had as much as a hiccup from one. The BEC is the best I've ever seen. Better than the BEC in a MMP trust me on that one!

Trying to figure out a winch setup for the Heap.

Do i use my current 3Racing winch with a mad dog rc winch upgrade kit, and a R2J pull-pal?

Or

Do i go for a servo winch setup with a 2 position controller for my futaba 3PL, a mad dog rc winch upgrade kit, and a R2J pull-pal, all running through my dummy 3Racing winch?

Is the 3Racing winch a total piece of junk? I thought a few of the NIRC members were using them without problems?

Besides power, what benefit would a servo winch be to me?

If your truck is heavy, a servo winch is great, but the 3Racing winch works fine, I have one on the Mog, the hilux, one for the Wraithand one for the TF2. I also ran one on my D90 and on my Taco. Never had an issue with any of them. I ran the servo winches on my Brute, EB and my Big Oly as they were all heavy and the servo winch is stronger.

I'm going to run the servo winch on the C3 truck and the 3racing winch on my C2 truck. I still need to figure out what things to buy to make the 3racing winch work right with my 4pl.
I think I got the servo winch figure out though..

Best bet is a Heyok controller, replace the 3racing controller and plug it into channel 3 and assign to DS1. At least that's how I do it on all of mine, but I am sure someone il tell me how wrong I am.

I need to know everybodys gearing and motor combo stat!

EddieO says that If im running 56/14 with a 35t and Trey is running 56/14 with a 25t, thats bad news. So, he wants to know what everyones gearing is.
I told him about the stalling of my motor and Trey talked to him about his motor having problems so, just do this for me and we'll see where it goes.

Post up your two most recent motors and your gearing..

Rick 56/14 with 13t crawlmaster & 35t brood
