| Re: NIRC. Chit Chat No problem. Too bad you didn't have any parts to fix mine! I now have no truck. Pulled the Bronco apart and figured out my electronics issue was due to shorting; when Rick and I tacked on the rear light mounts, I did not pull apart the truck and some of the wires sorta melted together which was causing my lights not to work correctly and I think the electronics issues. So now, I gotta decide what I want to do with the Bronco. May try and rebuild it by cutting in apart and using a Wraith skid rather than the SCX10 and fix some issues. Not sure though. |

Re: subzero.. I bought it, opened it up and sold it right away. That was my first RC4WD experience. I wasn't please with the overall cheapness. The chassis is fine..I think it may be a bit wide but, meh.. I think its just mig welded solid rod and I believe all the panels are mig'd on as well. I can't say much about the performance or design of the chassis other than it looks cool. You may be able to buy the chassis seperate. The whole truck is like $600 and the chassis I think is $300. thats expensive for a chassis from them but, if you buy the whole thing you have $300 more in junky parts that you couldn't sell for half that much. I personally would rather build something that looked similar to that.. Save a lot of money and have it come out how you want and use the parts you want. Thats just my opinion.

You can buy just the chassis. That's all I'm interested in. Edit: that is a lot for a chassis. Last edited by JHTreyIII; 11-25-2012 at 08:53 PM. |

Yeah, It's cool lookin'.. Mig'd solid rod so, its probably pretty durable. Edit: you could probably pay one of those chassis builders to build you something custom that looks similar for that much $ |

True...or I could just do one myself like you said. Ha, I need to get to work on my jeep and stop jawin' about something else! I'm off all this week, maybe I'll get a little done on it.

| Re: NIRC. Chit Chat I was trying to give it a 70s vibe. Can always repaint and I do have a 2nd clod body as well as lexan clod (good for busse). But I wasn't sure how it'd look sitting on Wraith axles with 2.2s, if it looked too out of scale. But in some image looking of 1:1 class 3/unlimited rigs, doesn't seem to be too out of whack. For class 2, yeah, but not class 3. Probably want to go with some longer links in the rear, which would give it a slightly longer wheelbase than the bronco. Doesn't seem to be any clearance issues with the 2.2 wheels and the tube fenders or the body. Just needs to sit a bit lower. Also because of the transfer case and the GripFab tranny/motor mount I don't think I'll have the issues I had with the Bronco as far as the links and all go with the offset pumpkin/driveshafts. Just need to fab up a light bar for it, help protect the body too when rolling over since that would be like the first thing to get hit. Probably for now just cut off the light bar from the Bronco and graft it to the inner cage I built. So then I'd need a Class 2; thinking of taking the other frame and spare parts I have, including the HandsBro CMS, and doing up a Dingo for Class 2 with looking down the road to do an actual metal rollcage for it. |

| Re: NIRC. Chit Chat Yeah the Bronco I put together had a really short wheelbase. It was nice for certain things, but sucked when trying to get over things. So definetly needs to be lengthened, but this was just mocking it up to see if it "looked" ok, and if the suspension/driveline/etc was going to work!

| Re: NIRC. Chit Chat Well probably the Chevy. Assuming it all goes together as planned. I broke one of the rear shock mounts on the Bronco's chassis yesterday at Busse. I'm probably going to chop it up and rebuild the chassis with my own improvements, but that'll probably wait til spring. |

clod is cool too, although i think it would look better with some scx or widened scx/xr10 modded axles.

I would agree, its a bit wide, but its what I got for a rig to put together as a class 3. Maybe some of those new fancy VP axles when the come out will be the ticket in the long run!
