| 1:1 Cliff's Adventure Trip!
1:1 Cliff's Adventure Trip!! The location: "The Cliffs Insane Terrain" 2681 E. Rt 6 Marseilles, IL 61341 Website:thecliffsoffroad! Date: Saturday May 31st (5-31-14) 9am-10am Arrival / 4pm-5pm Departure. People who are planning on going: Rick, Jason, Trey, Gary, Steve, People who are "maybe's": Johnny, Adam Entry Fee's: The Idea: -This will be an entry level, light/mild trail running / follow the leader type of gathering but, everyone can drive at their own risk to their capability. -If some of you don't have or don't want to drive your vehicle, I don't think it would be a problem to get a ride-a-long spot in another vehicle. I'll have an open spot and I'm sure there will be others as well so, don't think you have to be excluded. -We'll be going out there as a team, if someone gets into trouble, we'll be there to help. Things happen but, try not to intentionally get into trouble and potentially inconvenience someone else. We're out there to have fun with minimal work so, play it cool & be smart. -Most of us will be driving our Trail Rigs to the spot so, keep that in mind. Unless you want to pay the tow back home! Optional: -Camping Saturday night. If we're tired after a day of wheeling and the weather is decent, we could camp at the same place as last time. I don't remember the name right now but, one of you will remember. It's about 20min or so down the road from Cliffs. That is an option over driving home at 5pm when Cliffs closes. Edit: someone mentioned possible camping AT the cliff's. Need to further investigate the validity of that.. I don't remember seeing anything on their website. Notes: -RC's are certainly welcome to come along and encouraged. -Some of us will have Tools & Recovery gear. -All are welcome. Reminders: -Get your rigs and whatever gear you think you may need ready! -Bring your flags if you still have them or you'll have to buy another. -Make sure your spare tire is in the truck. -Bring Snacks/Beverages. No alcohol. For Fun: Well, That's a start to get the ball rolling on this thing. Post up in here if you want to participate.. Also, Let me know if there are any questions/concerns or if there is anything that hasn't been covered. Let's figure this thing out & have some fun! Ill be there whatever the date ends up being. Courtney is my ride along, and she will be taking photos with my camera for all of us that day (shes as good as me at photography, so we can all expect some pretty awesome shots) Camping would be awesome too! Johnny. You have plenty of time to get the Toyota up and ready for this. Tires at least. |

i know… if it was any show other than fumanchu… at least that later date gets john enough time to fix his junk. it'd be a good idea to take the carpets out of the rigs you plan to wheel. if its muddy, and i hope it will be… your carpet will get trashed. |

ok, I am marking my calendar for 5/31/14! I know I will be getting some recovery gear for my B-day. all I need to pickup is a spare tire, extend my breathers, and brace up my steering box. johnny has just under 2 months to get his rig ready for this. |

if you got buddies on the trail all you really need is a yank strap and some drings. a quality yank strap… not those harbor freight/vatozone yellow oversized pos shoelaces. i got this one, iirc its the 3 or 4 inch. ARB Recovery Snatch Straps - ARB Recovery Gear - Recovery |

I'm using a warn receiver pin as a hookup point for the rear recovery point with a snatch strap. I still haven't figured out a front recovery point. I thought about picking up a come along as a hand winch or something, but for a few more bucks a hi lift can be used the same way. |
