Getting this chassis to fit the body is turning into a chore. The narrowest part is 5" around the engine, and I want the front shocks exposed. I may even need to use my 1/5 scale shocks to make it look right.

Nice build, stumbled on it looking for info on how I want to narrow my axles. We built 3 mud truck chassis earlier in December, one was for that Proline body. Went with some custom tires to match the scale as close as we could. I'm using the MF axles as well, doing some searching now on how everyone is modding them so I make sure I chose the way I want to do mine. |

I follow you on FB (Eric Conklin) That build brought my attention to this body. You said it was huge, and you weren't wrong. Been a Twin Force guy for years and they are very easy to narrow. You pick the width and its doable. I am in the process of designing a spool that will make it much easier to narrow these axles. Super Shafty, Sutton Motorsports, and I will have something rolling soon.

Fab on the chassis has finally begun. I went with a simple ladder bar set up. Not a lot of need for 4 link and articulation here. Here is the lower link support. Here is a basic mock up pick and the look I'm going for. Front end is pretty much set in this pic. Still need a trac bar but you get the idea. |

really nice man. do you have any concerns about that mild steel where the lower links mount to the chassis bending and breaking? |

Not at all. It's 14ga and the lower links don't have a lot of side load. It's all linear in that area especially from an impact |

How intricate are you going to get with the chassis? Going to go for any scale style or pretty much just body on chassis?

Is that 1/8" or 3/16"?

Mostly 3/16". The only 1/4" is the lower parallels between the link mounts. The links are also 3/16 with the ends threaded to 10-32 for the buggy ball ends.
