are you going to run stiffer springs to help offset the hcg or maybe add some sway bars?

| that was an issue I was concerned with.. I adjusted the springs to make them as stiff as possible, and when I drop it from head level to the floor, it still bottoms out but rebounds back to level again. I think I am going to add 4 more shocks to make it stiffer.

That's definitely an interesting build! I would try to lower that motor though for sure. Maybe tilt it to it's side some or lay the transmission on it's side? |

| I'm agreeing with Nick it is defiantly interesting and the lower you can get the motor the better the performance will be. I'd love to see it run when it's done.

ok, here are updated pics. I probably have about 10 hours of labor in it now. All the plastic you see is from cutting boards from walmart and lowes. Hopefully it will be as stout as i plan on it being. an airplane gas tank is mounted under the hood. gonna silicone this box for all of my electronics to make it waterproof. all of the plastic will be black before reassembling everything. Maybe a bit of custom airbrushing. with the bedliner dropped in and cover closed. bedcover open. gonna run dual or maybe a single stack for the exhaust. good dimensions underneath i think. A size comparison shot to a 12oz can of Mtn. Dew. Yes, it is ALL the way down at the bottom. ha. this thing is gonna be freakin huge. body off. the 'shell' comes off with 8 screws, so its not too hard to get it open to work on something in the field. I needed a stout shell to eliminate flexing in the middle of the truck. now the spur/pinion stays directly in line no matter what. currently working on a front steering servo mount.. next in line is the throttle/brake servo, running fuel lines (good to have the primer button on there!), then making some kind of driveshafts (may need you guys help on that one), then making custom front rear bumpers, THEN taking everything apart for paint, THEN putting everything back together (with some locktight), THEN maybe it will be ready to drive! ha. |

thanks man. I built the driveshafts last night and they worked out pretty good. I will post some more pictures soon. Should be RTR in a few days. I curious to see how a weedeater motor and a Savage tranny run together.

Dude...That thing's a beast. I'm thinking you want to test that drive train on dirt. If you put it on pavement and the tires hook-up, BE IN CONTROL or you'll never catch it. Cool stuff. |

| the main reason I used a weedeater motor matched with a savage tranny is because I didnt want to really spend any money on this project. These were all parts I had laying around. Total so far: $60 for the SS body. $40 for all of the cutting boards. That is about it. The rest has been scavenged from my collection.

| thanks bro. things are going together smoothly. Got my steering all hooked up and my throttle/brake servo. Now, im just putting everything back together for the test run. Will post more pics and VIDEO soon! Does anyone know if someone else has built a 4wd truck with a weedeater motor setup? I see plenty of 2wd setups but cant find a 4wd anywhere. |
