Default NorZepol's Willys

Well I finally got started on my Willys. I had to strip my Rubi Wraith for parts to save on costs. It started as a frameless GI Joe Jeep my little brother broke. Parts include: GCM frame, Wraith axles, Axial tranny, GCM transfer case, Holmes and Spektrum electronics, Mayhem Monster wheels, SCX10 Shocks. May be a slow going build, but here is what I have so far.

The frame with a start of some body mount made from simple angle aluminum.

Here is a view of the steering and panhard mounts. I used a Hand Bros. CMS and a Vanquish panhard axle mount.

After separating the hood from the cowl I cleared some material to fit the Du-Bro hinges(2) then glued them in.

Used some Integy fans, the original "radiator" w/ shroud and headlight. Used some smaller Axial buckets for the turn signals. Will eventually have LEDs installed.

A shot of the hacked up body, showing the way I filled the spot for the shovel / Axe on the driver side. Also the ridges on the wheel wells and rear floor removed to make it easier to build around the shock mounts. My LHS did not order my styrene last week so thats it for this weekend.

If your looking for a Willys body look at Ebay I just picked up two for less than $50 each delivered. Now I have to star buying the expensive stuff for the rest of the builds.

Yeah rightI can't ever get rid of this thing. When I started I never knew how much time and test fitting it would take. It is all fun though

I like the way you boxed in the shock towers. That's good looking work.

Thanks man , would have liked to have a cleaner look with some angle to the boxes instead of square. This is my second time working with styrene (Wreckluse interior was the first). Thanks again.
