| NorZepol's Willys
Well I finally got started on my Willys. I had to strip my Rubi Wraith for parts to save on costs. It started as a frameless GI Joe Jeep my little brother broke. Parts include: GCM frame, Wraith axles, Axial tranny, GCM transfer case, Holmes and Spektrum electronics, Mayhem Monster wheels, SCX10 Shocks. May be a slow going build, but here is what I have so far. The frame with a start of some body mount made from simple angle aluminum. |

Here is a view of the steering and panhard mounts. I used a Hand Bros. CMS and a Vanquish panhard axle mount. Last edited by NorZepol; 06-29-2012 at 11:54 PM. |

After separating the hood from the cowl I cleared some material to fit the Du-Bro hinges(2) then glued them in. Last edited by NorZepol; 06-29-2012 at 11:53 PM. |

Used some Integy fans, the original "radiator" w/ shroud and headlight. Used some smaller Axial buckets for the turn signals. Will eventually have LEDs installed. |

A shot of the hacked up body, showing the way I filled the spot for the shovel / Axe on the driver side. Also the ridges on the wheel wells and rear floor removed to make it easier to build around the shock mounts. My LHS did not order my styrene last week so thats it for this weekend. |

Looks good keep up the progress! I've been looking around everywhere to find a larger scale hard body to build a truck similar to this but cant find one!

If your looking for a Willys body look at Ebay I just picked up two for less than $50 each delivered. Now I have to star buying the expensive stuff for the rest of the builds.

Made a little progress this weekend. Made a rear bumper mount / cross member Installed the rear floor panel One shock mount well built View of the area around the rear shock mount. The floor is just about finished just have a liitle more in the firewall area to finish up. Then gonna add some more of the half round pieces like on the wheel wells. View of some braces I added to the bottom. More will be added when I decide where the body will mount. The rear bumper is from The Scale Shop. Starting to look like a Jeep! I like the way you boxed in the shock towers. That's good looking work.

| Re: NorZepol's Willys Thanks man , would have liked to have a cleaner look with some angle to the boxes instead of square. This is my second time working with styrene (Wreckluse interior was the first). Thanks again. |
