| 2004 Nissan Titan 4dr Planet Toys
Hey Guys, I'm obviously new here. Been studying the threads for a while and am amazed by everyone's projects. I am a scale guy, my experience in RC is in boats, and in that arena I'm much more impressed by realistic looks and operation than over-the-top speed etc. I had a New Bright 1:6 Avalanche and Kyosho TF that for years I wanted to make a scale crawler out of, but never could figure out how to lengthen the driveshafts, so I gave up and sold everything on FeeBay. Anyhow I'm back in the saddle and found a nicely detailed plastic Planet Toys 2004 Nissan Titan 4dr that I picked up at a thrift shop. Has anyone used this body before? I couldn't find anything using the search. It seems to be 1:6 scale but when I convert real world dimensions of the actual truck, it's more like 1:8 scale. I am using a 'Pede stretched out 7 3/4" to match the wheelbase. I'm just getting my feet wet with this project, not looking to drop serious cash yet. So right now it's 2WD and I hope that won't get me banned as I nearly everything here is 4WD. This'll be a truck to just drive around while watching the kids at the park etc. Just looking for general thoughts and maybe some suggestions on tires that better match the Planet Toys version (apparently I need to jump through some hoops before I can post pics). Thanks all and again, amazing rigs here on this site! |

I found some taller tires/rims at my LHS. But they only had the front set. Also I've been reading up on this site and adding a few scale items. I did the bird feeder turned roof rack mod, and the Dollar Store light turned off-road light mods. So many cool ideas here. JandG, besides obviously the body, do you keep the tires or anything else off the toy donor chassis, maybe to use for a trailer later on? Or just trash all that? |

I trashed it all! I saw no reason for it. Talking trailer. I am considering building a trailer. We shall see |

As pictured the wheelbase is about 18.5", body 10.25" wide, 30" bumper to bumper.

Thanks, this is about as good a video I could find. My 6-year old filming and I almost ran over my first born son :-0 |

Looks like fun! Have any side shots with fully compressed/drooped suspension? Maybe lower the body a little more!

Looks like a lot of fun and had plenty of speed and power. Do you have any pics of how you mounted the body and what motor are you running in it.
