| Starwood Motors Nomad inspired build
Well I have been working on this Jeep for a while now but never posted here......dont't ask me why, I think it was just a brain fart. I can't post in the 2.2 section because it will be running 2.8 wheels from Motorworx Racing as you will see in the following pictures. This is based off a SCX 10. Here are the pics from inspiration and the start of the build. Deryck Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

These are some pics that I have from when I started doing the tube work. I actually used 3/16 solid rod for the cage because it is easily purchased from Home Depot and it is alot cheaper than brake line here in Honolulu. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

Then I started to do some body work and just had to mount it up to see how the wheels fit with the body. Purchased the wheels from Motorworx Racing and they are 2.8 in size. Decided the stretch some 2.2 RC4WD Mudslinger's over them......I have always loved the aggressive look of these tires and they matched the look I was going for. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

After doing alot of sanding on the body I wanted to touch up the fenders with some styrene, I am no master but I was able to make it work. I also made some body armor to match the ones on the Nomad, I thought it would be a perfect fit. Then decided to test fit the cage to see what mods I would have to do to make it sit right. Well took it all apart because I really wanted to throw on the hood scoop that I got with another chinese body that I purchased. Wanted to mold it in so it was back to body working the hood. In the end it came out how i wanted, just need to do a little touch up on the vents and we should be good. Deryck Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

Today I got some aftermarket UDR disc brakes in the Male and had to modify them to fit the mounting hubs koa the Motoworx wheels. I had to go with the UDR's since they are 1/7 because the 1/10 ones that I had looked a little bit dinky on these wheels. Also have some scale hardware purchased from @RC4WD to finish off the wheels. This is the most up to date that I am on this build. Thanks for checking it out and please let me know what you think. Deryck Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

Holy crap dude !! For not have experience with plastic this is killer !! Giving me some incentive to get back to mine. Been sitting on kitchen table over a year. Haven't figured out a color scheme yet, yah that's my excuse ! How did you connect the tubing to each other and how is it connected to body? |

I can totally understand a project just sitting, I have had many of those...lol. I actually have a cheap mig welder that I purchased from Harbor Freight to do the tube work, but brazing would work too. As for watching it to the body I just bored out some holes in the body armor I did and the cage just sits in them because the lower part of the cage is narrower it squeezes to the body. It is a pain to get it on and off but once the truck is complete o dont see any reason to remove it. I may just end up boring through the body later and using some Shoe Goo to hold the cage in place permanently. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

Late post but made some windows while watching a livestream by @hatleydesigns. Not the greatest job but it will work for me. Picked up the clear lexan from my LHS a while ago before the whole COVID shutdown. I still have to make the front windshield because the original one yellowed up on me from sitting so long. Slowly but surely making progress and trying to complete this project. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

Well been doing small things here and there on this, while figuring out what I need more. Decided that I needed some rear inner fenders so just went with a simpler design just to make it look cleaner. Took two tries but they came out well. Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk |

Also during this time I was able to purchase a original SCX 10 transmission off Ebay to get the driveline started. Original plan was to go with a GCM Racing driveline and I purchased the forward transmissiin mount and added the transfer case that I already had. I still have to get the whole slipper and spur gear set up for the tyranny so i will check my local LHS tomorrow if I have time and they are open. Now onto getting some driveshafts for this rig, may have to do some tinkering since the chassis is stretched around 2 1/2 inches. We will see what I come up with....... Sorry had to post separately since I'm doing this on Taptalk. Oh yeah forgot to add the chassis servo mount was thrown into the mix. Deryck Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk |
