I think you could have got a bit better axle to use for the scale part of it. Looks nice though.

Put the servo up in the frame.

Make your own cage for it out of 1/4" brake line.

Yea they look a little funny but TXTs would have looked funny because they would have had to have alot of widining so i preety much was stuck with this due to not being able to find some twin force axles. It was a great learning experince for me i hope to build many more if my bank account allows

Braze it. Welding it would be pretty difficult since the wall thickness is so thin, you would blow a lot of holes in the tubing. Brazing is pretty easy and it will be plenty strong enough.

If you need a snorkle that high...you have no business being in that deep of water.

Did you scale the body off of the std TJ wb or the Unlimited wb to get the 1:5.6?

I tried to be nice, I've built like 4 of these things back when they where popular and the 1:6 scale worked out pretty good. They're not exactly proportional to either model of the 1:1 jeeps in some ways, but the wheel base on them is pretty close to 1:6 visually. So again, I vote for the 17.5" wb which would be 105", which I think would look the most realistic and not like a toy.

You could put longer ball ends on your shocks to lengthen them a bit.

Nice build. I have 2 of these Nylint LJ's. I am thinking I need to do what you are. What do those axles/wheels/tires cost ? Heck what does all the parts cost ? Suspension arms ? Steering arms ? It's cold outside and I need something to do !

BTW you need that travel, go back to the taller shocks. They looked better to me anyways. My full size rides have about 4.5" compression and 8" drop on the shocks.

well just look around and u will find all the info u need about cost and what not. I went a slightly more expensive route but still kept it to were i could break a part and not cry. My grand total looks something like this:
Frame(made it)- 20 (hardware)
links, steering (made)and rod ends(traxxas Revo)- 40 (hardware/LHS)
axles (made Cases)- 75ish with new parts including steel cvs (Ebay/emaxx)
revo side shafts- 35 (LHS)
bolts, ect- 30 (hardware store)
wheels and tires- 110 (TCS)
shocks- 30 (emaxx)
2 titan motors- 35 (jrizza)
EVX 2- 75 (Ebay)
R2 V2 trans- 100 (RC4WD)
traxxas reciver and transmiter- 40 (emaxx)
body- 25 (walmart)
Tower pro 995- 25 (JPcustomrcs)
Glad storage thing- 4 (target)
I try not to figure all this up but around 650$ which is not bad. Now there are 99999 ways to do any build and this is the way i wanted to do it. Its wasnt the best or worst way i learned alot and cant wait to get her just how i wont her. i still have to make it a scaler. she has no bumpers or person and there are other none scale things but i have untill spring so im in no rush. well i hope this helps ya if u need any advice or help pm me. But if u want it to turn out good do alot of R&D and buy a star and support this awsome site
