I took my gearbox apart a few days ago and felt the little bump you guys are talking about.

Didn't think much of it so I put some lube on the gears (same grease as the worms for the Comp Crawler) slapped it back together and now it runs faster and is waaaaay quite. No grinding noise and super smooth.

Give it a try

Default same here...

I have the same binding in the center trans. I messed with it for quite a while and never did get it to go away. I dont mind the noise, but the binding is causing a lot of heat in the motor, and stalling making it very jumpy.

Has Rich sent any ideas out yet on how to fix this?

Ovaled out where the bearings ride in the transmission cover and no more bind! Got a couple of minutes longer run time too!

I did the same to mine, allows a little more slack in the mesh between the two gears and reduces the binding. Don't want to make it too sloppy though, grind a LITTLE, then reassemble the case with the screws. Spin it by hand and you will be able to tell when the binding is gone.

I have been leery of no grease in the axles due to the noise, and also thinking that there is a wobble in its motion, it does seem to "come off the line" better/easier sometimes, maybe signs of the problem?
Losi is a great company and I am sure they will provide all the support needed to remedy this, whether it is a user implemented modification or a new part. I would be happy with either.

mine is doing it as well, going to disect it this weekend. I have a couple micro-t's though for parts so I might see about trying some of the tranny gears from those, or swapping the tranny completely.
