| Micro Diecast '75 Chevy scaler
Well I decided to pick up a new toy and me being me , I just cant be happy with stock. Since I am a huge 1/24 diecast collector , I figured what the hell , lets make a scaler. So here I go... Let me first show everyone where the magic happens. Its a nicely equiped 2 bay chevy fixin facility . Where fords are just not allowed. Well I was workin away when the blazer pulls up with a nice shinny new toy Now here lies the hard part . Which lucky diecast will be RC'd out ? I will give you a hint, I picked the red one So since I didnt waste any time , here are some tear down pics I am suspended from work for a few days so I will be workin on this all night . Its a very easy project so I hope to be driving it in the next couple days . Keep posted . Pics added hourly. |

Well just put in the motor mount / cross member , which fit perfectly as well as mounted the servo on the front of the frame . Hope I have room to keep that sick lil 572 it came with.

Is it running yet?? You gonna use the frame from the So Real truck...and add your own links...or are you gonna use the Losi's non-scale type frame? I'm thinkin about buildin one of these myself. |

And I am using the chassis from the so real truck . Just replacing the models axles and such with the losi's . Basicaly , with some modding, bolting up the losi stuff to the so real frame/body . The chassis on that thing is quite solid . | |

| That's what I was wondering as well. I've seen those on-line before, they are really good looking static models. If the chassis is die-cast, it would be bullet-proof. How heavy is the body? My concern with a die-cast body is creating a top-heavy pig that turns over on the slightest side-hill... |

Alright here are some pics of my progress. Basically what I did was shorten all the shocks , Found a perfect place for the battery , and found a link and shock setup that works great for the back . Well as you can see the shortened shock is on the left and stock on the right. Now the battery tucks right into the driver seat . The ecu will be behind the passanger side and the on/off switch will be built in the center counsle . I am working on a way to make the battery wires look like a seat belt and make the ends like a seat belt coupler. So, basically unbuckle the seat belt to put it on charge then buckle it back up again to hit the trails. Here are a few of the chassis with the motor mount and servo installed. Now lastly for now is a pic of the rear setup. Used styrene to make a link mount because , well it needed to be in that location and links cant bolt to air . |
