hmmm. good question. though, i dont know if there's a right or wrong answer. depends on the rig and the drivers abilities., and personal preference. i run lead shot in my micro with no foams. i have 30 grams in each front tire and 20 grams. in each rear. i'm runnin the dp torsion chassis. i really like this setup.

im assuming you mean grams and thats about what i have 30 front 15 rear but im running droop on a slightly modified stock chasis with a new way of running the hairties its workin alot better now. i have all the wheels wrapped flush to the edge with solder and the fronts have 15 grams of #6 lead shot

for me my micro has a total weight of 241 grams and personally i think that 250 grams should be max for the stock motor with the smallest pinion so i dont think its the weight but its that you got used to a little less weight in the front

I would have to say this is a personal preference but now you guys have me wondering....I gotta go weigh my micros...

Rig #1 runs droop and orthodontic rubber bands, inboard and layed down shock bodies and stock lower links bent with heat. The front wheels have shot in the tires, washer weights and small washers between the hex and the wheel and weigh in at 60.7g. The rears run just shot and small washers behind the hex and weigh 37g. The whole rig weighs in at 323g. After investigating all this I think Ill probly shed some weight from the fronts and anywhere else i can find. The rig crawls really well with mad artic. but does lack power probly from the weight.

Rig #2 runs a DP torsion chassis , a BBII motor, shaved axels, longer and bent links front and back, front tires have shot and wheel washers and small washers behind the hexes and weigh in at 46g each, rears have shot and small washers and weigh in at 32g each. I have clocked the axles as well and that made a huge difference in steeringand aiming the rig. The whole rig weighs in at 266g. I weighed both rigs w/o batt.

Rig #3 is my test buggy and is bone stock for comparison.

Just guessing here but I would say both modded rigs should go on a diet. They both stick to the rocks really well but I now question how much weight is too much because I do stall out on some of the tough sections of my course.
If and when I get my beadlocks I will be able to adjust the weight of each wheel and tire combo much easier and will report results but for now I would say you probly dont want to go over the 250-275g total weight just to keep your motor alive. Anyone else wanna chime in on this?? now I am really questioning my set up....lol

My micro scaler weighs in at 514 grams, and I'm not quite done with it yet either We'll see how well the motor and drive train do.
