Default Minimum change for maximum performance.

Ok, i just got 2 of these little guys for me and the significant other.
i have found them VERY fun, but they need a little work.
I'm kinda looking at the poor bastards guide to minimal spending with maximum performance increase.
I have BB's for the wheels, and looking to spend VERY little, because that's all i have to work with.
Opinions and ideas greatly appreciated.

If you are going to keep it stock chassis, link's & such I would loose the spring's in your shock's, Run Droop.

Get your battery to the rear axle, shrink wrap(or electrical tape) your speed controller/receiver to get rid of the high CoG. Take the foams out of the tires, turn your motor/transmission around so the motor points forwards (helps to shift weight distribution to the front, remember to switch your motor wires around) bb's and lead solder are good for weight for the wheels.

Well i would prefer to not use the stock setup, as its kinda not the best.
So far it seems the best cheap route to get the most out of it, is maybe just a pinch chassis, and the freebie mods, bbs, move batt, de-case esc, trans flip.
Anything else that i would see a considerable performance increase on the very cheap side?

For the stock chassis, extending the wheelbase w/ 2-56 all thread & MiniT rod ends is a pretty cheap & simple upgrade. I extended mine to about 4-3/4" wheelbase by building longer rear links only. That put more weight forward on the chassis, which seems really needed on these rigs. Either 9/32 aluminum tubing or a Bic pen can be used to legnthen the driveshafts as needed.

Relocating the shocks by drilling out the holes just below the factory mount position helps, too. When I first got mine, I threaded a few coils of the stock springs around both ends of the shocks to lower CG, but still have a little dampening & limit to them.

Most all this has been well covered in here:

I'm wondering why everyone suggests placing the battery on the rear axle, rather than the front. We want a forward weight bias and this moves a lot of weight the wrong way.

I will have to tweak my body to fit, but my 2 cell, 300mah lipo is going on the servo.

I'm running my battery on the front servo of a TMC chassis. It climbs much better up front then on the back.

the main reason for this is because of space but as long as your wheels are weighted properly it wont be an isssue but it does help for downhill situations

He will get back to you, he is a busy dude. Took him a few days to get back to me with details so I could order one myself. You might also try emailing him, that is how I got in contact with him.
