Default bLACKwIDOW's Losi Micro Stick Chassis

Last time i drove my Micro Crawler and rememberd these awesome Clod Buster Stick Chassis, so i ordered a new Micro to try if i could make a Micro Version. I know that Clods are MOA Crawlers but that dident stop me. The Main Part is made from 5mm spring steel, the housing over it is brass, it has an 5,5 inch wheelbase and i only used original chassis screws. Here are now the Pictures, at the moment the driveshafts are the only missing thing on it, i dont know what material i should use to stretch them, alloy, copper or pvc only time will tell

Oh yeah the electronics are missing too, i will use stock ones to try it, but have allready an brushless motor, esc and receiver here.

Cool, this would really be nice with the miniQLO moa axles too. Way to bring something fresh into this section.

@Jamus: It would look even better with miniQLO moa axles

@elsewhere: Good Question, first i did think about a Losi 22 Slider steering
but building it was a bloody mess, so i went back to a simple one

Its pretty dark right now so i can only attach some pictures on my desk with bad light

Here one with the electronic complete

How about Mini Clod Tires, so cute

Some have simply used the case from a bic ink pen to extend the shafts and epoxy or could even use set screws to hold them in place. I guess the oe shafts fit nicely into the pen case...

Great work on that btw, nice to see some imagination at work!

Dude, that's awesome! I've been wanting to attempt a Stick chassis for my Mini-Z but the design of the Z would make it too much of a project. Then I found the Micro and wanted to do that too. Just never have time. I hope you get the bugs all sorted out so we can see an awesome video.

Looks great! Can't wait to see it in action!

Just some things I learned building one that I hope you don't mind if I share: this style tends to be loose on the suspention and tips over easy on off-camber climbs and side hills. The front will tend to lift-n-twist. Make sure that you make the spring system tight!

I always thought that the drive lines would suffer breakage being slung low but they hold up pretty good. The rigs are just so light it didn't hurt them. The clearance under these makes for a fun rig that is hard to get stuck!

Good luck

@MGCrawler: Pen cases really do fit perfect i used now some red Stabilo Fineliner caps with Pattex Stabilit Express glue

@Stoovey2004: I own a Mini-Z Overland, they are so much fun to drive. I made a brass rollcage for it, but it dident look well

@DANALLY: Infos like yours are awesome, it helps me so i dont even get stuck with bugs, i'm open for any other info you have for me

And here are now some pictures with driveshafts and twists

No problem. The clearance is awesome. Are you going to run Miclaws? What body?

Forgot to ask...did you clock the axles to correct the steering?

@elsewhere: Give me some time to find a nice record spot , at the moment i think about something what is easy to rebuild to compare the abilitys from it to your crawlers, hmm DVD cases or something else what everybody has on the floor (i really have DVD's on the floor, my DVD shelf is full now i stack them infront of it >.>)

@DANALLY: I like the clearance too, the stock body dosent fit it any longer without cutting, i could use a golden A-Tech Mini Monster body, somewhere i should even have a Ford Bronco body but i spare it for a scaler. I dont think that the axles are clockd or are they , the front axle was allways the one with the selfmade brass servo holder and the rear one with the stock plastic.

Edit: Wow i forgot to answer the tire question, shame over me. Miclaws would look great on it at least i think so but since im in a swamp area maybe super swamper are better? I guess im using the Tamiya Mini 4WD tires for the beginning.

The camera angle is maybe not the best, but i dont have 3 arms :P

Hey, have you made any improvements yet? I have a custom roof rack for my Overland, flat black. Looks amazing but adds weight. As it is right now, the Overland isn't really good for anything the Micro can handle. It's more just for regular offroading. I do have the stuff for adding LEDs to it, I want a roof system, maybe 4-6 lights. And I also did a rally style antenna. The whole thing is more for show than anything else. My Micro is the performance machine...and I've got another one for building something entirely new. My first Micro is modded stock, no new chassis.

I do plan on getting a Sumo too. Heard great things about that.

And of course, I'd love to build a Mini-Stick, probably from some other RC trucks I've got.

Looks like it's ready for a Predator and some MiClaws. Nice looking rig, a very neat idea.

The only improvements i got so far are new motors, maybe i get next weekend some time to go into the forest and record an other better video.

At the moment i plan:

Spektrum DSM Receiver
Roxy 918 Brushless Controller
Hacker E10-28L Brushless Motor
or
Brushless Motor HXT 5g
Kokam 350mAh 7,2V Lipo

The rig looks great. I was glued to the video watching it crawl like that. You made a great chassis. It makes me want to revisit the stick chassis. Again...sweet job.

Well its not a 100% Stick, i have an idea to build it without transaxles but who knows if that would crawl better. Im gona use a A-Tech Mini Monster Lexan Body for it, needs some cuts and it will look comp like
