Default Project Spittin' Image. My 1st Gen Hilux Clone.

Here is my attempt at "scaling" my 1:1 Yota. The body is 1/25 and too small, but it took me a bit to find a 1st Gen model. These would be sweet in 1/20 Scale....as if.

Anyway, The foundation is.......
CrawlerX 5.5 EX Chassis
leaf spring front, 4 link rear
DDT 100T Losi motor,HR alloy 56/12 spur/pinion
HR alloy tranny case, knuckles/Cs, rear lockouts, skid
Hitec mg servo
decased/waterproofed ESC
MT Baja Claws, RC4WD beadlocks
Shaved and skidplated diff mod
Sumo rear shocks (not final mounting position, moving back in front of axle)
BWD windeners front, Trekker hexes rear, RC4WD wheelnuts.

Enough rambling....pics...
My'82 Hilux, slightly modded

The Crawler. This is my first attempt at styrene toob, only wasted 2" or so. It is 1/8 round and square for the bed. Still alot to do, but this weekends progress.

The rig was test wheeled bodiless and did pretty good. It made lines that my Comper cannot. I can say I don't think the leafspring front will last long though.

Not as hard as I thought it'd be. Precision heat placement and patient forming and bam! Took me some time, but fairly easy overall. Ive had all the build components for almost a year, it was time to build. Styene is alot more flexible that model plastic.

Yup 1/20 4x4. Check out my profile there are some pics there of them. I'm in the process of casting these for sale but I do have a few kits laying around.

Damn! Those are nice! Do you have a square headlight Hilux? If you have a body to spare, I'm down to take it off your hands. 1/20 would just fit soo much better. I'd dovenose the front to match my 1:1, it'd look dumb on 1/25th.

Thanks! I just have the round headlight front. I'll dig out my box of bodies and see what I got for ya. Do you want an interior?

Interior or not, I'm down. On the other hand, if I mimic the half doors, an interior would be nice.

Decided to try on Miclaws on this bad boy. Terribly out of scale, but looks badass. I gave the wheels the Danally treatment (Thanks Dan!). After running aluminum wheels and weight, I'm impressed with the performance gained with a lighter wheel/tire combo. This particular model will be replaced and rebuilt in 1/20 scale soon, I'm not certain I'll finish this one out.
