Default transmition dig and 2 speed building!!!!!!!!!!

some body ask to me to built a micro dig transmition, i made it for losi axel but i have just a sumo transmition in stock for the built but i recomand to use with losi axel becose is a worm gear!!!!
begin with any plastic sheet
after you need a joint from any small rc !!! I use them from custum ridz drift car!!! for the bushing I use aluminium tubing!!

shape the plate as you want and bolt em to the ball link!!!
make a pin for the center shaft!!!

and the finish product

I ever run this type of dig on my micro and is realy a must!!!!!!!!!

and a video micro dig unit for losi - YouTube

next time will be the 2 speed

I like it!
Motor must rotate when engaging rear drive train. Not sure of a way around it. :(
Good job!

it's why I use a soft material if is not in front of the pin the plastic bend and when the shaft turn it will engage easily!!! you also can drive it by spring!!!

IT'S TIME !!!

to built !!! you need a dremel ,a drill ,some teflon(I use this becos is easily buidable and very low friction and usure!!!, 2 speed gearing!!! and a lot of time!!! if you are luky you will have the good shaft diameter!!!if not like me now you will have to turning down with a dremel and drill on shaft!!!in my other transmition I gluted the output shaft on the gear but this one is bigger and have spline

starting kit

these gear come from a 1/12 vintage camaro and was a couple run on 3 cell with no damage
now i make a hole in the skid plate for place the shaft lower, it's not necesary, I make it for less draving angle!!!!
mark a point for the output shaft
now the output shaft is in place, TRY to place the idler gear shaft in the good spot with a good gear mesh!!! mark with a small point mabee you will not do the first time!!!

note : iT's easier to losen the gear mesh than make it tigthen!!!
now everything is ok
just take this gabarit for the other side!!!!
now let in the hole and drill the other
this is not the motor I will use!!! just drill big hole for the gear and motor , and2 small for the bolt,,,,,,,,,,, and ,,,,,,,,now

a lot of work rest to do but I don't finish im becose I don't know where he gone a go!!!! thi is not easy to built but is very a must!!! and it is pretty strong, I never broke this type of transmition in a losi will give you a super low range and a segond gear a little bit faster than the stock one!!!! IN A SUMO CRAWLER IT'S INCREDIBLE!!!! with the losi esc the red cat smoke too much!!!

I wish thats will help somebody to built a transmition
