Default New trekker owner

So I bought a trekker yesterday. Thing is pretty cool. Great for indoors and all. But I want a lipo for it. I don't plan to build anything else, just a lipo. I can get an eBay lipo for about $20. I have a Venom Pro Charger. In order to charge this little 2S I would have to make an adaptor to plug it into the charger, and drop the current way down to .5a or something right?

why a $20 motor? the losi lipo is just too expensive and you will be disappointing if it goes bad. While there is a lipo cutoff... if you leave the trekker on it will continue to discharge.. my son did this and the $30 losi lipo is now junk.. wont charge at all...

i say get the ones from hobbyking..
zippy 350mah - they dont fit in the stock location
zippy 180mah - they fit but standing up and fit under the truck body...

so i have
ZIPPY Flightmax 350mAh 2S 20C - $3 !!!!

ZIPPY Flightmax 180mAh 2S 15C Z180-2S-15 ZIPPY $1.71 - $1.77 !!!!!

so you can drop $20 on one if you want...

p.s. welcome to the fun part of RC'in.. and sorry but i dont think you will stop at just lipo!!! stock it is fun.. but altered is way more capable!!!!

mine came with the losi lipo and charger (bought used) So thats what i use. But charging at 1c is usually what your looking for. Like spoo said 350 =.3a 250 =.2 180=I would do .2 still ;) You'll want some stuff for it eventually i said i was going to keep it stock too and use it between race heats but i've already got some money sunk into it

wow those batteries are CHEAP!!! So I can charge one of these with what I have right now no problem. How about a recommendation for a discharge alarm? I found this on the value hobby site Value Hobby R/C Hobby Store (Bensenville, Illinois): GT Power 1-8S LiPO Battery Voltage Tester/ Low Voltage Alarm would this work?

i dont run a discharge alarm.. once the rig stops moving.. shut it off and it is ready for a charge..
it does seem to have a lipo cutoff.. but like said.. if you leave it.. on it will discharge too low...

but on the international shipping.. just buy from US warehouse.. i got mine in 4 days..
love it..
