| How to make a simple wooden flatbed
Hey guys I figured out a way to do a simple wooden flatbed. The model I used for my trekker already had a wooden bed molded into it. I figured it would be too difficult and time consuming to paint and make realistic so I went this route. Go to your local hardware, craft, or home essentials store and pick up a roll of self adhesive cabinet liner with the wood grain pattern. This whole roll was less than $3.00 at the local Family Dollar. Cut a piece, apply it and trim to fit. Go back in with a pen/marker and lay down some slat lines and bolt heads. That's it. Took me about 5 minutes total. |

I found another method. If you go to Lowes or Home Depot and go to the vinyl siding isle, they have free samples of different designs. 3 of them were wood grain. They are plastic and about 1/16" thick. They would be easy to cut into slats. |
