| want new 4 link chassis can't decide
thanks for all your info on the mrc i finally got 1, and it is great. I want a new chassis to get rid of the tt the mrc has and to go 4 link, i have narrowed it down to The PR Concepts Evolution Chassis or the RcBros MRC Mixer Chassis Kit. Can anyone help me with these two. Also before i forget why does the motor sit out side the chassis plates? |

Vote for the Mixer as that is what I have. I do not have experience withthe other kit. The 4link will help with the TT but not get rid of it. It is all but impossible to completely get rid of it in a shaft driven crawler. There are many things that can be done to help with it, talked about indepth on this site. Mainly: 1. get heavy parts of chassi and on axles/links 2. 4link helps with proper setup 3. Heavier shock oil 4. spacing shocks further out on axles for more leverage 5. lower gearing can help a bit. The slower speed with a smaller pinion does make a difference in my setup, if I crawl real slow, there is less twist. 6. Tons of more things can contribute to helping with it The Mixer kit is very inexspensive for what you get. All you need to add is some link ends (most use Traxxas 1942's). The kit is only around $55 and the links about $7. Nothing else is needed. There will be other things you will eventualy want to change, but the Mixer is a good start! Edit: The motor sits outside the plates as the comp chassi's are typicaly much narower then stock. It does not cause any problems. it would be easy to build a guard of some sort if you desired. But I have never heard of anyone hurting the motor with this design. Many 2.2 and 1.9 chassi's are setup/designed like this! Last edited by Rook82; 09-08-2009 at 09:24 PM. |

As to the motor question, normally when you see a motor sitting outside the chassis, it's because the chassis design moved the motor/trans on the skid plate to straighten out the drive shafts. I believe this will also help reduce TT. Myself, I don't have a chassis yet. I'm leaning towards the T1E or hope Gatekeeper releases his chassis for sale again soon! Good luck! Mike |

When i have the money i will be gatting the RCBros Mixxer, not because i think it is the best but because RCBros costumer service is awsome. If you have a question most of the time it i answered the same day, if not within the hour. And when you order your shit it ships, theres no waitting weeks to here from someone. So im buying the chassis for the costomer servce.
