Hummm...I cant remember. Something I found in a big drawer of o-rings. They are probably from a truck like the MRC or Mini-t...

Jeremy, what size hardware are you using to hold the axle housing together (the 4 around the diff) 2mm or did you upgrade to 3mm?

Hey chuck they look to small to be 3mm plus I don't think the would fit by time you drilled it out.

Ya, I have been looking at mine as far as using the 3mm. They would fit however it looks like it might compromise the housing, also it looks like there is no clearance for the nuts.

Yep, stock 2mm with locknuts on the back to help hold the cases together.

Its an SWB. The LHS stocks them. They are the same as the Hangar 9 ones.

I had intended to work on this truck before nationals, but got busy doing other things. Even with zero attention for the past several months, this thing still performed quite well and pulled a 7th at nationals.

Since it was so nice to me, I decided to show it some love. The axles are in the process of getting torn down and rebuilt (de-rusted) and I plan to do the same with the tranny and motor.

First, I finally cleaned my knuckle weights. Driving these trucks down on the beach really takes a toll on the metal. I picked up a bottle of Brasso and went to town on the weights.

The cleaned one is on the right in this pic:

Funny you said that. When we were down in Galveston that spring break we drove together, I had my blitz out on the beach some at the State park. I didn't touch water but the axles were rusted out on it by the time I got back to DFW. Crazy how fast things rust.

Our last comp down in Galveston was exceptionally worse than usual as well. My rigs got a bad case of the metal cancer.
I should take the tires off, hose the trucks liberally with some WD-40 put tires back on and go... That might help me slide over the rocks better too

Brass looks good Jeremy!

Thanks guys! The package said this stuff will work on any metal. I'm gonna try it on the aluminum hangars on my XR and sporty as well.

For the rest of the crap, I just use WD40 as well....

Well, after a strong 7th place finish at Nats, I figured this truck finally needed a bit of sprucing up. I have been going through and checking everything before Best of the West at the end of this month. I also decided on some new wheels from Dlux. These allowed me to add more knuckle weight and/or push out the existing weight.

Here is a shot from Nats:

And the new shoes:
