Default Matt's Mini GC-3 Build

So my stocker chasis broke, well the shock mount did, what a bummer! :( so then i just went on to buy the GC-3 chasis

So heres the Beginning of the build, sit back, relax and enjoy.

So first i started off by tearing apart my MRC. CARNAGE!

Now this is really the beginning:

1. So i started off laying out all of the GC-3 parts and componenets

2. Attached the Tranny onto the Derlin Skid plate

3. Began putting the links together, i knew these wouldnt hook onto the rocks as much as the stocks lol

4. Finally began attaching the chasis together! TaaaDAAAA!!

5. mehh, at this point i got lost, and just hated that long instruction manual, so i just went with my ways! and the Rear wheel/axle/shocks came on

6. Vital part, the attachment and the bond of the Front Axle/Wheel and Shocks bring the crawler to life

Randomly put electronics to get it running.. Put my electronics on the top.. wow this thing still had LOW COG..

Articulation shot!

Current Setup:
ESC- Stock Losi
RX/TX- Stock Losi RX/ Spek DX3R TX
Servo- PowerHD 180oz torque @4.8 volts
Beadlock- Pro-line Titus 1.9
Weighted: Front 4oz each tire; 0 oz in rear
Tires: Red Compoud Hot Bodies Rovers
Shocks- Losi threaded aluminum shocks

Future upgrades
-Motor, thinking HH mini torque master or Novaks BL system
-Servo, once the one i have dies out
-homemade dig, removable for comps
-Memory foams or better foams

Hope you enjoyed this build! thanks!

-Matt

Looks good. Your going to love that GC3. I've just had mine for a short time. But it's insane what it can climb.

Looks good. Your going to love this chassis.

If you still have the stock MRC stock sliver springs. Either add them to front or rear your choice, it help. I ran no pre-load on the springs. It worked awesome.

Now I just have to get it dialed in

Updates:

hey guys got a few updates.. no new parts or anything.. but, ive moved around the shock/4-link set-ups, and im still impressed.. Hands down, a very good chasis for the price! i think this chasis has already paid off the $70 even only after owning it for 1week! What a great job Gatekeeper Designs did!

Reasons why its much better:
-Able to sidehill a lot better than stocker
-very adjustable
-4-link set-up
-can crawl most 2.2 lines and stay within the 2.2s... (stock couldnt even stick with 2.2 that easy
-Can crawl up steeper angles (depends on set-up)
-doesnt get trapped on skidplate like stocker (thanks to Derlin)

thanks my friend!

haha dude if i were you just purposely break it and say it rolled over! haha

you will be impressed at how well it crawls.. like with my stock chasis i tried crawling sections at my local area and it just didnt make it, or the torque twist caused the kit to roll back..

so once i build the GC-3 i went back to the same place.. it did the same exact lines, but even smoother and just looked too easy.. The sections i couldnt make with my stocker were now just a breeze for it.. and with the 4-link, rolling over is almost impossible! it just sticks to the rocks like spiderman!

Haha the DX3R! well that was really for a future build of mine.. im planning on getting a MOA or 2.2 crawler, and add dig to it, so i have the DX3R at the ready!

http://www.castlecreations.com/products/field_link.html

it says "But wait! Act now and we'll throw in Castle Link USB compatibility too! That's right, these cards are also Castle Links that give you access to the entire world of Castle tuning functionality."
