Default comp tire height?

Got a mrc to comp with, first one I've had. Got several different tires, and noticed that some were a lot taller then others. The rovers, chisels, rock claws were small compared to the flat irons, rock crushers. I just figured all 1.9 tires were the same size. What are people running in comps? The smaller tires have good reputations, but looked really small compared next to the taller tires.

When it comes to tires a lot of it depends on the rock type and terrain you run on. Different tires work better on different terrain. You just have to figure out what works for you. Now for comps. The max tire size is 4.25". The pro line flat irons come in right at that size. So if you plan on comping keep that in mind. Also there is tires made for 1.9 class that is even larger like the mickey Thompson claws. I think they are 4.75". They are mostly used to run on 2.2 class scale rigs. Right now I have hb rovers on my comp set up. They hook up great. There are times when I wish they were just a tad larger.

I use a small GYROs saw blade on my dremel to make the slits in the tred and side cutters to take the small center tred out.
