Default Mrc lipo upgrade suggestions

Aright first off I'm Robert. Not a big RC guy had an rc-10 buggy about 10 years ago and have had my mrc for about a year. Just getting back into it. Already has lowered electronics, wheel wideners, bent links, axial 1.9 beadlocks, and proline flatirons. Just ordered a GC3 chassis and a new body for it yesterday.

Was wanting some suggestions on which way to go as far as a lipo setup for it. Won't be Comping it as of yet. I mainly use it in my back yard on the course I setup. Maybe in the rocky areas on the outskirts of town. Right now all of my electronics are stock. I plan on upgrading to the hi-tech 645 servo and maybe an over the knuckle steering setup. Can't afford to do an escape and motor right now. Any input would be a great help and thanks in advance!

X2 on the AC-6 charger; of the 3 I own, it is by far my favorite. I have used several Hobbypartz batteries as well, and have always been pleased.

I too have the Thunder AC6 and love it. Get a LiPo in the 800mah - 1300mah range. Anything smaller kills the runtime and anything bigger is shaped like a side x side 2/3 A pack. Personally I like the Sky Lipos. Also, no bigger than 2S. 3S will burn everything up.

I personally disagree with the sizes mentioned above. I only run an 850mAh 3s on my 2.2 comp rig.

On my MRC I run Thunder Power 325mAh 2s packs & get anywhere from 10-15 mins of runtime. Granted...my mini is strictly a comp rig so 6 mins is all that I NEED but the size is great for a mini setup. They're inexpensive as well. I

Its all personal preference but I suggest running the smallest pack ya can. It makes mounting location & switchin em out so much easier than fumbling with a larger pack.

HardKnockz- thanks for the input! I would like a little more runtime out of the batteries than 10-15 minutes. Is only a backyard crawler right now. I'm not even sure if they comp these in my area. I know the 2.2's are fairly popular around here. What are you guys running for a cutoff on the stock esc?

Juggalo- the link you sent me is for a 800mah 2s lipo but it is a 40c and I thought there was no bennifit in going above a 20c on one of these?

I run 40c for the punch in my opinion there is a.diff between a 20c and a 40c when it comes to the punch.

40c on a mini IS fun. I ran my TP 850 3s packs for a comp after leavin my little guys at home & I had fun jumpin stuff instead of crawlin.

Like I said...its all preference & use in the end. What I like some dont & vice versa.

Do you have to wire anything differently? Also I notice that there is an extra pigtail commingle off the lipos in the pictures. What is that for?
