Am I late to the game?

Did I come late to the game. My new Mongoose is coming in today. The more I look up parts for the mini the more discontinued parts I come across. I’m I going to regret putting money in this Losi Mini Pro? I’m building it for myself and not so much for competition, but at the same time I want to be able to get parts when I want. Just looking for opinions on this subject. I know there are parts to be had, I’m just surprised about all the discontinued parts I’ve come across.

Build it up and enjoy it. A lot of people bought the Pro Rollers when they were cleared out and many clubs (including ours) have either added the 1.9 class or had their existing class grow. Many vendors are still developing parts for the minis, and it is my understanding that Losi is still producing the RTR version, at least for now.
Once these things are built up, you can beat on them pretty hard and not worry about breaking too much. Watch the classifieds for good deals on rigs and/or parts to ensure you have replacements when needed.

Dont abandon it! ill stick it out with you Im new to it as well and found the same thing, but then again i also just got over my xmods phase got some suped up little rigs, but thats a dying fad for sure :P

Good advice from you both. I'll stick it out. I'll just start stock pilling parts as I can. I need to but a Duratrax Gatekeeper GC-3A Comp before it's to late...

Im got a cool project that im gonna open a build thread on. Its using a mrc rtr im turning it into a bluetooth crawler controlled with my phone, itll have lights and winch and whatever else i can fit on it. with a newbright hard jeep body keep an eye out for that one

You can change the title of the thread. Go to the Mini Rock Crawler section and the place were your thread is double click there and then you can change it

If you already have the pro chassis, then IMO you won't gain that much performance for your dollar buying the gatekeeper. I think keep the pro chassis and put your money elsewhere.

Well I scored some spare parts in the bargain bin at my local Hobby Town.

Mounted the Mongoose and electronics last night.

Cleaned and filled the shocks.

Added the outboard shock mounts.

Need to order batteries and charger today.

Lipo Charger Advice.

Please point me in the direction of an inexpensive Lipo battery charger/balancer. I’m new to Lipo, and there are so many out there. I really want a simple one, with few settings. I’m just wanting something to charge and balance. Some of the more advance units have features I won’t use (think Homer Simpson of electronics). Trying to order batteries and charger today, so any input would be appreciated.

For a charger, check out the AC6 on hobbypartz. Up to 5a charge, 1a discharge. I've had mine for 3years, and its the one I see most at local meets.

If you think you'll want to charge large batteries in the distant future (over 6000mah) they have a newer version that can charge up to 10a.
