Default Where to begin?

So I am new to the mini world and wondering if I can get some options on where to begin? Looking at picking up a new MRC pro kit but want to know my options on electronics? I am looking for waterproof if possible, brushless, smooth running, decent speeds, reliable, and not going to break the bank. Any input is appreciated, thanks.

Umm.. Brushless an waterproof don't really go together well.. If you plan on water an mud, go brushed. Budget.. Mmm, 400$.. Just for a good round number..
Best bet... Get a upgraded one off the for sale section.. 250-350 will get you a killer rig or a killer deal!

Thanks for the start. I would say waterproof isn't a necessity but would be nice. Brushed or brushless works. I searched the for sales but only found a couple, most already sold unless you got some stuff you would like to sell.

Is $140 shipped a good deal for a NIB MRC pro roller? Only "crawler" type vehicle I have owned is a wraith a while back. I would like a setup that has a little bit of speed for an occasional speedy hill climb up my bank in the bakyard. the reast will be crawling around the yard.

I run a fx-r with a mini HH motor.. Brushed..

I ran the mongoose system for a while in a diff rig. Brushless..

There are some 20 motors a few guys are running am like them. There is a thread here somewhere. It has the link to buy one. Its brushed. Tekin b1-r would work for ya. Lots of choices..

Are they all around the same speeds? I was looking for the mongoose system used but no luck yet. THe b1/HH might be worth a look. Price is right.

If you can find a mini HH..it is a great motor.. I had a micro castle ESC fried my first one, I gave up on castle ESC's a while back. Too many of them went bad. I run fx-r in everything I own! I run the 33t with a back up an a 22t I may swap in, just cause the 300mah 2s I have fit alot nicer then the 240mah 3s I use..
The lower the number, the faster it goes..
A mongoose system isn't easy to find either..
Most ways to find both are in the for sale section..

I have the 27T with a castle sidewinder micro and the magnets in the motor alone make for incredible drag brake! Well worth the $ in my opinion

Thanks for the help, especially winnerone. So far I have the MRC pro roller, novak 18.5t system, savox 1256tg, and some 800mah lipos on the way. Can't wait
