Default Anti-sway bars?

Throwing around some ideas in my head for a all-purpose rock crawler/basher mrc. Obviously if i increase the top speed much i am going to have serious stability problems when turning.

Which brings me to my topic, has anyone tried putting some sway bars on a crawler? My idea would be to make them dis-connectable, for crawling reasons. I can find plenty of sway bar kits for buggies and stadium trucks ect. Shouldn't be TOO hard to adapt them.

Interesting idea.

Bolt in the mini-t transmission and you'll gain a lot of top end.

Then gear it down to regain some torque and crawling ability.

Not sure about the sway bars. Could be done, off course.

I just wouldn't think you would be stopping on the trail to disco every time you encounter some rocks.

Four link it to kill torque twist, and stiffen the suspension to combat body roll

It wouldn't go fast, or crawl supremely, but it would do both reasonably.

I don't have an SCX-10, but I'd imagine that describes one fairly well.

An Axial Wraith sway bar might work better because it is a straight style, unlike the buggy and sct's that use large curved units.

I just saw the wraith one, thinking I could mount it to the chassis and attach the links to the lower suspension links about 2/3 down to the axle. That should create more leverage to overcome the fact that the sway bar was built for a much heavier vehicle.
