Default The MRC lives on!

Anybody catch Vaterra's release of their Slickrock buggy today? An MRC in new skin. More than happy that these little guys will live on. Just thought I'd share my excitement...

Looks just like a mini to me...

Its a Losi Mini RTR with a new body for the most part.

Hopefully this will jump start the aftermarket support.

That's what I'm saying. I've owned 5 or 6 MRCs, including two Pros. The aftermarket has always been so-so for these rigs, with parts getting harder to find day by day. With 3 of them on the shelf, I was starting to get worried they'd stay there. My neighbor and I have 2 courses in our yard catered to the smaller scale rigs and I currently have 2 trials rigs in the works using MRC parts. I'm stoked to see what the aftermarket comes up with for an off the shelf "scale" rig. More than one of these will end up in my fleet!

Hell, I may have to break down and buy one. Metal lockers, swampers, and looks like a light bar....not to mention water proof electronics....what's not to love? With one exception......that damn triangulated upper link. Those will be the first thing to go. Wonder id BWD's 4-link plates will work on it? The axles look like MRC axle housings, but there may be some minor difference. Maybe someone needs to hit Don up to make 4-link plate for them if they're different.

Guess this will be next on my list, though.

Wow, this is good news! I was actually thinking of building something that looked this this for my son out of an MRC roller that I have sitting around.

It's the same axle housing as the Losi MRC's... for 4-Link plates I'll be selling one soon that I think you'll like

Tease.

Are they using the Losi motor, too? Or is it safe to assume they're using something maybe a little better?

It comes with the same motor and a nimh stick pack. Hopefully more motor options and upgrade parts hit the market because of this rig. We'll see...

I'm looking forward to any buzz that it may generate in the vendors market.

Hopefully EverettY isn't alone with new ideas and support for 1.9 class.

Like 89redranger said, more motor options would be nice.

Lockers should be easier to get now too.

We'll see....

I've got some new parts that I'm working on but still like you said I agree hopefully there's some new stuff coming for them from other people but it's still dying in clubs which doesn't help vendor support a ton... But I've got some awesome new ideas that might help it some...

I have the last of the Crawler Mafia motors but once they are gone they're gone... So I agree hopefully some new stuff can be made but if the 1.9 class doesn't get revived I don't see that happening for a while

The 1.9 classes may be dying off, but the scale stuff is growing like a weed. I see no problem with this rig still holding it's own for smaller builds. To tell you the truth, if it weren't for the MRC and it's copies I wouldn't be able to afford to keep my family wheeling. I'm hoping for more scale classes as a result of this rig. Maybe box stock kid's G6 type events? It doesn't much matter to me though. I live with team (family), and we have two HUGE courses in our yard built sround minis. Then again, we are about the only ones around here running minis. Axial came in and stole the show...

Yeah... It's sad to see the class die cause they are such a blast to drive... Mine hasn't been running since last year cause I've been busy working on my other comp rigs since I can't even really comp it...

You should come over West sometime and crawl with us Just found out there's about 6 other guys in the Eugene area with 1.9's.... So we'll have to have a GTG and run them

I'd totally take you up on your offer, but I don't ever make it over there. On top of that, every MRC we own is under the knife right now. My comp rig is getting portals and a Bruder Mog body, my daughter's is getting a Little Tikes cabover body for a trials rig, and I'm picking up another Maxstone 16 to build a Mog for girlfriend. My family has been contaminated with the "scaler virus." No comp rigs left.
