That's a awesome deal! The aluminum idler gear is the best part of that.. They are hard to find.
I like ditching the HR diff gear for a stock diff gear and steel lockers.
Best setup, IMO..

Got a steel locker with stock diff gear and mini revo over drive pinion from JeremyH for the front, getting ready to go into the rear axle to see what's up.

Never seen it (locally) used myself. But I have seen 1:1 lead wheel weights glued on to the top of the front axle to help with the "High 5" hill climb issues.

Funny every mini I see has the rear weighted, I plan to go big with the front weight, these little turds seem to need a lot of weight to stay on their feetz.
