Default ARK/LA/MISS Fall schedule ***NEW DATES***

New Dates

So I was thinking to myself, why not run some into the fall. Plus with things still being so far away from a lot of the southern LA guys, lets bring a few comps closer. For the Northern guys (or southern guys going north for that matter) that want to run these locations, you all are welcome to stay with me the night before and ride to location in the morning.

Still looking for a good spot for the 3rd Comp.

The schedule thus far is as follows: (All Saturdays)

COMP #1: 8/27/11: Malvern, AR CANCELLED.
COMP #2: 9/24/11: Monore, LA (half rocks/half Corky’s)

BREAK 10/7-10/9: Crawlapalooza

COMP #3: 11/12/11: Long Leaf Vista, Kisatchie National Forest, LA CANCELLED.

COMP #4: 12/3/11: Lafayette, LA (Shell's house)

For Rain, Slide up or down a location.

We are also ALWAYS looking for new people to come out to the comps, so please, if it is in your area, save the date and come out!

I definitely want to check out some comps this year. I'm just getting into crawling/scale rigs and I've just been hanging out around RCC and doing some research. I have an offroad track here in Petal, MS that I started with a few other guys and I've actually been getting kind of bored with racing. Hopefully I'll be able to make it out to a few comps this year and get more involved with crawling. I would love to build a course out at our track along with some scale courses. We have 2 acres beside the Bouie River that our track is located on and I've been eyeballing a few spots

Sorry for writing a book haha. I'll keep an eye on this thread and hopefully be able to make it up to some of the closer comps.

OK the one in Lafayette is not to far from me. I would like to look into that one. But my rig is not a comp rig. But a play rig.

The more the merrier! Hit up the southern brothern!

Personally, some maybe too far for a non-national event. But that's just me and soley based on where I live versus where the comps are.

Plus I comp with NWARC, so Gas $$$ could play into it.

EDIT: NWARC comps on the 4th Saturday of each month, so I am out on most of the new dates listed above.

...

Corky, if you need somewhere to set up, you know our place is open. Just off the interstate and now easy to get to. If the comp is in October, we have plenty of time. Even tho I would get killed in a comp, I will bring my stocker out. Hell, I will bring the Erevo, LOL

Perfect, just what I was looking for, to shut out Corky! Remind me how your schedule works?

That's what I'm thinking at this point with the exception of the final comp. Shell already agreed to have it that weekend at his place and I don't want to inconvenience him.

I'm going to update the 1st post with new dates. Check up there.

Hopefully these dates will be better.

On a side note, there is one spot I think we could comp on at Long Leaf Vista, but its about an 1/8 mile -/+ walk from the road. Not much further than the DeGray hillside location. Its a rocky plateau not far from the head of the trail. The rock however is very soft and in most cases crumbly. This place is a paradise for scalers.

Thanks for the changes. Asking off for one date works out a lot better. We should comp at Long Leaf Vista, since it is more toward the middle of the state,

Thanks for including me on the list, I'm going to try to make some of the other dates listed but it will be a last minute decision due to work and a new kiddo.
Bring your appetites when you come down, I'll make some pulled pork or brisket for everybody.

Ive been to long leaf vista for an arklamiss comp before, back in 08/09 maybe? ( strange i remember a comp way back when.. time flys when you sit down and think about it) but anyway, we did find a place for the 2.2, it wasnt very large, but the first course turned out to be dificult, tight turns, odd angles leading into gates, etc... I have a few vids i took with a crappy camera, ill post a copule, but if you want more, i can start a new thread and post all of what i have.

If i recall right, the walk was maybe a foot ball field or less from the parking lot, wheeled boxes and carts work, but we did walk down a section of steps, so help will be needed to cary it down, but the steps are not that long.

ALso a little further down from the comp spot, well that spot, is a creek crosing wich was prety fun for the scalers.
