So I'm doing some research for a brushless combo. Androtaz asked me so I figured I post my findings for all. I hope we can all maybe add to this. I shop using these sites... Falconsekido.com Hobbywing.com Hobbypartz.com Hobbyking.com I like Hobbywing Brand stuff. Had very good success with it. Never used the JUSTOCK ESC, but doing my research it seems solid. Falconsekido has some good combos. You just pick your KV and 3 days later solder it up and drive! Free shipping over $50 JUSTOCK combo $120 HOBBYWING | FalconSEKIDO — Justock Combo for 1/10 Up to 3s NOT waterproof Sensored JUSTOCK Xtreme combo $150 HOBBYWING | FalconSEKIDO — XTREME Supercharged Combo (XS Series) Up to 3s NOT waterproof Sensored EZRUN combo $140 HOBBYWING | FalconSEKIDO — EZRUN Combo SCT Waterproof Up to 4s on ESC 3s on motor included Waterproof SensorLESS (I had this one. Powering my huge 1/8 scale 2650kv sensorless motor with very little cogging.) No need to waterproof a sensorless motor (Check your bearings though) just the ESC , which is factory waterproofed! Totally submersible! Ok, thats it for now. Maybe I'll add to this. This is just research stuff, for anyone interested in a brushless setup. These are all premade combos. You can order single stuff to make your own combo too. |

The only brushless ive had any experience with so far is the verillion from Traxxas. very good motor good power. Although I did have to put a new rotor in it because the shaft the pinion goes on broke flush with the can. it was a used slash 4x4 so hard to say just how much this was punished before I bought it and how much power was put to it. I do have the Teken rs with the 17.5t redline but have yet to run it. Ive herd a lot of good things about teken, though they are fairly expensive. I think this thread is a good ide. Share the knowledge. I think Handy man may have some input. I should have brought marshmallows that day. lol

I'll keep compiling at least what I've personally run. I've had 2 ESC's catch fire on me. It was early on in my waterproofing days. Great ESC. Just don't plastic dip it. I'll add more stuff as I have the time. I'd like to see that tekin run. I also am super tempted to pick up the hobbywing ESC and 21.5 turn motor. But I've still got my taxes to pay.. PSH haha

I love my Hobbywing 3656sd. It is ~$85 shipped. Sensored 3400kv, 4 pole and 1500w. I run it on a Hobbywing SCT pro on 3s. Both are waterproofed by me with conformal coating and spend plenty of time completely submerged under water.

I've run mostly Castle, mostly because I have the programming software for my computer. I've never had a problem with Castle stuff that I didn't cause. I had a Dynamite 1/10 6800kv sensorless that was good in my touring car. I have the LRP Spin pro 17.5 sensored, factory waterproof, I've tested it. This is a nice smooth system that I use in my Telluride. I have had, and still have multiple Velineon systems. They're brick simple and brick durable but no drag brakes. I have a Tazer 2800kv sensorless set up, factory waterproof, programmable drag brake, smooth, durable and fairly cheap ($130 at Ray n Robbins) Everett has this system in his honcho on most crawls, geared 11/90. It's by far our favorite for price/performance. Hope some of this helps.
