| MST CFX-W LC70
Been eyeing the Killerbody LC70 hardbody since it came out and as soon as they revised it for their version 2 I snagged one up from Asiatees Hobbies… My platform of choice is my MST CFX-W. I've had a hard time deciding what to do for the body, there aren't many 300mm wheelbase ones out there and the majority of my current bodies already have holes in them from past SCX10 projects. I wanted to do the Proline SR5 Hilux but couldn't get it to sit low enough on the chassis. I found an article by Asiatees (https://www.asiatees.com/article?Com...y-LC70&id=2967) on how they mounted up the LC70 body and decided to kind of follow that one… Kitchen mockup shots, cause that's how I roll… Then off to the photo spot after finalizing boy and suspension placement. Was going to leave it white but while spraying the grill and engine bay, I somehow got some black overspray on the roof. Found some Rustoleum Satin Nutmeg in my collection of spray paint and sprayed it up… Had some issues with the paint and the bed so that took a while to correct but now I'm sat the point where it's actually looking street legal… Ordered up some RC4WD lights designed specifically for the LC70 body and got some yellow stickers from an HPI sticker sheet for the dog lights…gotta be able to cut through the fog! What made you choose the CFX-W chassis? What changed from the V1 to V2 of the body? Your kid in the background looks really interested in crawling! |

1. I thought I'd give it a try since it has a front motor mount and portal axles...after I built it I mounted a few Lexan bodies to it but none of them really looked good on it. 2. check out Killerbody's post on Facebook, there's quite a few different changes, most notably the grill is cut out where as before it wasn't, there's also a few strength improvements in the body. 3. LOL, he drives his Wraith like I drive my Axial Yeti so yeah, crawling for him...not so much! | |

Interesting. I had planned to try the pro-line sr5 body on this chassis. Can you take a picture of that body sitting on top of this chassis? I've got the kit here waiting to be built, but no body yet.

It's getting closer, added a few more details on it. The side mirrors are a pita to mount due to the tiny screws and nuts but look amazing once installed. It definitely needs a new set of shocks, the stock ones are starting to leak pretty bad, leaning towards a set of RC4WD Kings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Been a long time since I updated this build...where to begin. Pulled the portals, because I just couldn't handle the negative camber anymore, and installed the regular MST solid axles which dropped the COG and tucked the wheels in closer to the body, then I threw on a set of 1.55 SSD D hole wheels and RC4WD Rock Crushers Then I finished the body details and took some glamour shots of it. I then took it out and beat on it, surprisingly it was actually very capable even though the tires are super small and with a small amount of clearance. I then decided that the brown color was not working so I sanded it down and re-painted it a gloss gray with a flat black hood. And this is how it sits today. |

looks great, those standard MST axles are quite good and are nice a narrow for some pretty scale looking builds like yours.
